Love the next Speaker of the House's smackdown, but check out that last bit!!!
[T]he fact is Sarah Palin is a far right, pro-life zealot who can not hold a candle to Hillary Clinton's lifelong fight to better the lives of women everywhere," said Rep. Robert Wexler of Florida in a statement (after the jump). "Americans should be alarmed that the former mayor of a town of 9,000 people with zero foreign policy credentials could be a heartbeat away from assuming the role of Commander in Chief."
(snip)
Wexler has been a key liaison to the Jewish community for Obama, but he didn't raise something that's been gaining some traction in Democratic Jewish circles: Palin's active support for the presidential campaign of Pat Buchanan, who was viewed as hostile to Israel by many Jewish groups. That association is going to bring a presumption of guilt with some Jewish voters.

Hey, I did some snooping around and found that the choice of Palin is even more calculated than previously mentioned. Many seem to know that Palin was a Buchananite, supporting the arch-conservative during at least two of his presidential bids. But, it appears that Palin was also very friendly towards Ron Paul, and is very popular with the Paultards.
It seems that McCain was taking this in to consideration when he tapped her to be his number 2.
Is that why I just heard Pat Buchanan say McCain's move is "the boldest move he's ever seen in politics ever?" And how mavericky McMansions is for doing it?
He's going for the Ron Paul folks? I didn't know they liked Pat Buchanan that much. Are they as racist as he is?
BTW Republican hubby is still saying no, no, no.
Well hubby going no,no,no is what I figured. She is a mother of small children, one and infant with special needs. Why is she even in politics? Most women raise their children, at least out of diapers, before entering such a demanding profession. And the baby is a special needs child. Unless she has a cadre of nannys, imho she needs to be mothering those beautiful children she has.
Not only all that, but Ms Palin has had virtually no contact with Jewish people in America. In fact, most Alaskans still use the term "to jew someone down" as part of their every day vocabulary when speaking about bargaining at the store....so I guess Ms Palin has a huge storehouse of inherited antiSemitic fixations based not on hatred but on ignornace. Ask her what she thinks of Jewish people someone? I am sure he only knows about 3.

Oh, Lucy, I was talking about my Republican husband who's saying no, no, no to a an inexperienced female VP pick for McCain b/c he's so damned old. He doesn't think Ms. Palin would be ready for shit, and he's one of those southern gentlemen I've been trying to explain all day. I'm not sure what Ms. Palin's hubby thinks.
I could never leave a tiny, premature Down's infant in the care of someone else, though, never. I would have to be home to watch every little thing. But that's just me. I'm a worrier of a mother.
