Keep 'em coming!
John McCain's choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate stunned and divided Alaska political leaders on Friday. Supporters said she was a shrewd choice, but others argued Palin has no business being a heartbeat away from the presidency. [...]The reaction wasn't so rosy elsewhere. State Senate President Lyda Green said she thought it was a joke when someone called her at 6 a.m. to give her the news.
"She's not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president?" said Green, a Republican from Palin's hometown of Wasilla. "Look at what she's done to this state. What would she do to the nation?"
Wait! That name! "Lyda Green... where have we heard that before? Oh, I remember now.
Well, when you think about it, when you're 72 it's a little hard to move fast. But Anchorage Democratic state Sen. Hollis French said it's a huge mistake by McCain and "reflects very, very badly on his judgment." French said Palin's experience running the state for less than two years hasn't prepared her for this.
Alaska Democratic Party chairwoman Patti Higgins, attending her party's national convention in Denver, said she was shocked to hear the news this morning.
"In this very competitive election for them to go pick somebody who is ... under a cloud of suspicion, who is under investigation for abuse of power. It just sounds like a pretty slow start to me," Higgins said.

Chris, you're wonderful.
Nah - I just steal good. :)
Brilliant to pick someone who has pissed off all the republicans in her own state.
This story just keeps getting better and better.
More like worse and worse.
I cannot wait until the s..t hits the fan for Sarah Pale in comparison to Hillary Clinton. McCain with all his experience should know the importance of Vetting. Then again, he is getting old and maybe thinks vetting is waste of time. Or the rules just don't apply to him.
Palin??? Americans should be outraged!!!! McShame McCain is playing games– Get Real!!!!!
I don't doubt that Sarah Palin is a good person and has done some good work in her state arena, but her selection for VP proves how frightening McCain's judgment is. Senator McCain is actually proud that he picked someone that in his own words; he only had one meeting with and one phone conversation with and it was an instant personal match (love at first word???). All of Washington and the entire country should be appalled. The selection is a disgrace to the honor that McCain says he gives to Hillary Clinton's dedication, experience and work in politics. It seems so desperate of McCain. And for Palin to make an attempt to stand on the platform of Hillary Clinton by mentioning shattering the cracks in the glass ceiling, was so desperate and self indulgent. It seemed as if she were stealing from the Democrats what made for a phenomenal and heartfelt speech from Hillary Clinton. For Palin to try to come across as if she and Hillary have some great bond was outrageous and to dare go up on stage and try to win votes by quoting Hillary remarks is a disgrace. Talk about capitalizing on someone else’s great fortune, ideas and philosophy. Palin obviously should have taken Integrity and Grace 101 instead of journalism (take note there has been no report of how far she went to college; was it a Bachelor, Doctorate or PhD? JD, what?) If I were republican, I'd be interested to know before I voted for her.
McShame McCain is asking Palin to run the most powerful country in the world should the need arise. I’d much rather have Joe Biden in that spot than Palin. (Did they make some sweet deal with her? – just help get McCain elected and we’ll find a way out for you after it’s all over then, you’ll be set for life.) It is such dirty politics to outright use someone for political gain – their using her and she must have gotten a sweet deal to allow them to do this.
McCain selfishly forced history, but for in His own time and season; the true maker of history picked Barack Obama and asked Barack to honor the history...Mr. McCain you can’t force the Hand or the Will of an Almighty God.
My intelligence was insulted once again as a woman and most of all as an American that Mc Cain would pick THIS woman as his VP..he is trying to pull the wool over our eyes but his antics are so see through it isn't funny. We the people should be outraged!
