Poll-itics: Gallup has Obama ahead

PRINCETON, NJ -- Democratic candidate Barack Obama has gained ground in the latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking average from Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and now leads Republican John McCain among registered voters by a 48% to 42% margin.

After the conventions start, I stop calling bullshit on these polls. Of course, that doesn't mean they aren't . . . it just means I stop saying that they are. So, poll away!

Given everything that has happened the last 8 years, I'm amazed that McCain is even polling in the 40's. This shouldn't even be close.

But what do I know? I thought the same in 2004 and look how that turned out.
