laughing, laughing, laughing

but don't forget, she does like mooseburgers

that's always been on the top of my list of qualifications needed to be veep

Back when I ate meat, I ate a mooseburger while in Alberta. It was horrible. I tried it after eating a moose steak that also wasn't good. It was better than caribou, but not something I would ever call tasty. All were gamey, even though they were supposedly fresh.

I wish I had said this:

She's Bush with boobs.

n discussing Tim Kaine for VP, Karl Rove dissed his lack of resume:

Go to the 6:30 mark

Unlike Kaine, Palin has been gov of one of the least populated states, for less than 2 years and previously a mayor of a town of 6,800.

I've been absolutely flabbergasted by BTD for a while. His analysis has been off for so long, I know I should just give up on him. But today, this was horrible:

"I would add that Obama does not need to be arguing how important experience is. Let me also add that when Tim Kaine, who has exactly the same experience as Palin, was treated by the Media and the Dems as a serious and acceptable potential pick, it opens up charges of a double standard."

Of course, that is utter BULL SHIT. Kaine (whom I'm not real fond of, BTW), attended Harvard Law School after getting a BA from Missouri (hardly the U. of Idaho). His public life has been marked by three notable positions: Richmond city councilor, then Mayor of Richmond (1995-2002), pop. 200,000; Lt. Gov. of Virginia 2002-2006; Governor of Virginia, 2006-present.

Palin doesn't need her "credentials" propped up by our side like this. I'm sure the GOP has more than enough hacks to do it for them.

To be fair, BTD's link is here:

However, the site is experiencing problems right now.

It's odd that I started writing this before I saw your comment, joe.

Clancy, right minds think alike!
I took a look at talkleft to see with the Clinton supporters were thinking, and boy what a surprise. There appears to be a civil war going on there.

I just happened to end up there this afternoon. They're normally on my "do not visit" list (since April), but I still couldn't believe that crap. I don't even like Kaine, but I couldn't believe the utter ignorance of that statement. Kaine is quite accomplished. It may be true that he's not Presidential material (I would certainly agree), but he's got many multiples of experience on Palin.

Experience is often given too much weight, but I would certainly prefer some kind of background that demonstrates some kind of ability to handle the job. I'm not certain Palin has it.

Begala, over at CNN.com:

"John McCain needs what Kinky Friedman calls 'a checkup from the neck up.' . . . In choosing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate he is not thinking 'outside the box,' as some have said. More like out of his mind."

I hope that all of you that say that realize that she is a smart tough female, that has been more honest then all of the houses in DC. I also love the fact that Obama has no experience and that is okay with the liberals, but now that Palin is on the ticket experience is a must, ha ha ha. Who is laughing now.

Tonja, the right wing media echo chamber purposely downplays Senator Obama's experience. He was in the Illinois State Senate before he became a US Senator. The right wing nuts love to leave that part out, and when they do mention it, they'll say, "Well, he voted present 130 times..." But he placed over 4000 votes. So they are talking about 0.0325% of the time he voted present mostly as a strategic plan with other Senators, but why bother with facts when folks like yourself seem ready and willing to swallow whatever is shoved down your throat.

Ms. Palin has coupled herself with Senator McCain who has voted against equal pay for women. And Ms. Palin is against abortion even in cases of rape and incest. This makes her a fraud-she's certainly not a feminist or anything. She endorses Mr. McCain's belief that a man doing the same job that a woman does should get paid more, and a woman who is raped and becomes pregnant should be forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term. That's one sick bitch in my opinion.

Actually the sick one is Obama, who believes in plunging scissors into the skulls of the unborn and sucking out the brains.. and if the murder victim happens to survive the less brutal abortion methods, let that unviable tissue mass die in a bucket.
