Palin Trooper-Gate Scandal: The Video

By GottaLaff

Local CBS Affiliate Reports on Palin

He said, she said. What do you say?

As mentioned earlier, Gov. Palin is embroiled in her own trooper-gate scandal up in Alaska. In short, she's accused of using her pull as governor to get her ex-brother-in-law fired as a state trooper. The brother-in-law is embroiled in an ugly divorce and custody with Palin's sister. And after his boss wouldn't fire the brother-in-law, she fired the boss. Palin originally insisted there was nothing to the story. More recently, she was forced to admit the one of her top deputies had pushed to get the guy fired.

Here's one our recent reports on the story.

What an inferior choice, from an inferior presidential candidate.

I've been gone. Are they talking about the scandal, or just what about a "fresh", mavericky, Down's Syndrome mommy choice she is?

Buchanan just called her the "Princess of the American Right".

Will the right care that she abused her power? I'm wondering. They seem to think there is nothing wrong with breaking the law.

Unless you are a minority.

Why would any candidate want to buy the baggage of an open investigation? Even if she is innocent, it will be a distraction!

This appointment also reveals the basic McCain strategy... It's not a policy problem that has caused the last eight years, it's poor process and implementation. Thus Palin is a repackaging for the "New and Improved" McCain Republicans. This is going to go head-to-head with the Obama message that the problem is both policy and process.

It's gonna be interesting!

Sure is!

to eve, do you remember the presidential administration of the Clinton's and how corrupt and dishonest they were. Slick Willy was saved within an inch of his scalp from being empeached. What about the man who donated millions to his campaign and then was pardoned from tax evasion. If the Democrates really want a slinging match then they better run for cover because the republicans don't have Teddy 'the butcher'kennedy.

Please, Tonja. Corrupt administrations? Want to compare how many members of either the Nixon or the St Ron administrations were indicted and/or convicted of crimes? I can start with Reagan: James Watt, Bob Wallach, Lyn Nofziger, Michael Deaver, Oliver North, John Poindexter, Richard Secord - these are just off the top of my head. Want to discuss the ramifications of selling weapons to the Iranians and using the proceeds to illegally fund a war in Nicaragua? How about the pardon of Caspar Weinberger or Jimmy Hoffa or Richard Nixon or George Steinbrenner by GOP presidents? You want to talk about two of the most corrupt administrations in US history? 'Cause we can do that, and Clinton's name won't even come up.

You forgot the present one, Chris.

I try to forget, but it's not working...

She's pretty hot looking. Do you think McCain will let her blow him in the Oval Office. I hear the President's chair is adjustable and they still have the presidential kneepads. They might be worn out from all of Condi's use.

Not Agnew.

Quale.

Old Bush said, "Just wait for my VP pick." And then he chose vacuous prettyboy Dan Quale. I didn't even know anything about pol'tics back then and everynoe was "WTF?"

Palin, the one that's in the middle of an abuse-of-power investigation as we speak? Does he really think the PUMAs are gonna come rushing over for ANY female?

Good choice, Gramps! God Bless Ya!

I'm wondering why this ever even got to this stage? It's Alaska, right? Don't they have some kind of Frontier Justice deal? If step-daddy was a problem, tasering junior and all, why didn't someone just put a high-powered round through his head while he was out on patrol in some remote bear-infested area? She's a hunter right? I mean, these are NRA folks aren't they? Dead trooper; no problem...appens all the time up there.
