I'm just shaking my head. This kind of blatant attempt at censorship enrages me. Sure her base loves it though. I just scoped the article, but she does not go over well from what I can see.
Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." The librarian, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire her for not giving "full support" to the mayor.

REPUBLICAN friend at work says it is a conspiracy McCain and Obama are trying to win it for Obama.. ha aha aha I almost fell off my chair...so all this has nothing to do with the fact that he is unqualified but wants to screw things up so badly so that his friend Barack wins the elections... O boy people will say anything to save face,,...
wonder if she banned "The Joy of Sex" or if Bristol just stole it.

BFCE - paddy can we talk about that?
"McCain and Obama conspiracy"
Now THAT made me laugh out loud.
(I still love the fact that Ross Perot -- pro-military, intelligent, earthy, billionaire conservative -- despises McCain and thinks he'll "say anything to become President".)
I agree with most of his message, but I strongly disagree with his view on abortion. if a wonam and a man agree to have unprotected sex, then they have made thier choice. Don't try to justifie killing a human life If they made a bad choice.
Shorter Sarah Palin: Sieg Heil!
Well..Anonymous- let me tell you what Pro-choice means.
Pro-choice means- woman having the RIGHT to choose if she wants a baby or not. And Guess what- 95% of the time- any woman keeps the baby because she is a mother. Ask me- when I was pregnant- I was 19 years old. I had choice to abort- but- I kept the baby because I just felt I should. However- I am happy that I had "Choice" to make then. That is Pro-choice for me- My RIGHT TO CHOOSE- not killing........YES- if a mother chooses to abort the baby- she must be having a very good reason to do so. Again- she is the mother- she knows the best. If aborting baby is sin- then let her face the consequences. Who are we to compel someone what to do and what not?
Let's see...
We have McCain who admits that he is ignorant on technology, and a running mate who wants to teach creationism in public schools: http://blog.wired.com/wiredscience/2008/08/mccains-vp-want.html
It's obvious that she also does not understand science and technology.
Let's send this country back to the ideals and attitudes of Medieval Europe! Blood-letting, anyone?
I also doubt that they'll pay attention to this:

Was she thinking of bad words and sex, or other dangerous ideas (e.g., the Qur'an, Communist Manifesto, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas)?
She wants to steal all my David Sedaris books!!!! All the talk of crystal meth and the weird dad... Get that Satan away from me!!!
And leave my copy of Catcher In the Rye. She put it in her coat.
ok anonymous your "pro choice" definition is a little twisted, its giving a person the "choice" to take an unborn childs life. and you say "Who are we to compel someone what to do and what not?" really? then if we go by your logic, who are we to choose whether a child gets to live or die?
It's the same with adultery. It may be considered wrong and immoral, but it should NEVER be illegal. People have the right to CHOOSE. It's a question of personal freedom, government should not intrude on peoples personal lives.
Um. Isn't a smaller, less intrusive government one of the Republican tenets?
She banned MANY books including these:
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller
East of Eden by John Steinbeck
Flowers For Algernon by Daniel Keyes
Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
My House by Nikki Giovanni
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
The Living Bible by William C. Bower

Sarah Palin is dangerous.

Girl, I agree with you 100%. I also became pregnant at 18 and decided to have my daughter, who is now 25 and has 2 kids of her own. Both unplanned, but definitely loved.
OTOH, my mom had an abortion in 1973. My father was abusive and she was planning to leave him when she got the news. To this day she is glad she made the choice she did. She had a hard enough time raising me and my brother on her own.
Another case in point: I read a fascinating albeit depressing memoir of a former crack addict (A Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown) She had 4 abortions during the time that she struggled with her addiction. Do I judge her? Hell no! I think she made the best choice under the circumstances.
It makes me angry that the religious right wants to "protect innocent babies" in the womb, but doesn't give a sh** about them once they are born.

I totally agree with this. I am pro-life supporter of Obama and reconciled his position a year ago. I now support keep abortions legal for medical purposes. What they've done should be between them, their doctor, and God.
Ironically, many of the "Religious Right" are being deceived by Satanic forces, IMO. They are being blinded by two issues (abortions and gay marriages) yet embracing lies. Sarah Palin in her short time on the stage has lied multiple times ("Bridge to Nowhere" support, Ebay plane sale, Obama's record, Troopergate). Lying and fear-mongering are sins as well. The consequences of both are clearly outlined in the Bible.
