And the rumor mill revs up...UPDATE: When you follow the link to the court records, it has gone from "try again" (meaning too much traffic) to "Service Unavailable". But I'm still trying.
Here We Go
Todd Palin's former business partner files an emergency motion to have his divorce papers sealed. Oh God.
UPDATE: Here's the back story...
[W]ord bubbled up that the National Enquirer alleged in its print edition that John McCain's running mate had an affair with a business partner to her husband. With the sensational charge, the supermarket tabloid is gambling the measure of respect it has earned from more buttoned-down media in the wake of its reporting on John Edwards's affair with a campaign staffer, which was partially admitted to be true by Edwards himself. And early signs are that it may lose that gamble: The Enquirer issued a wishy-washy statement to the Huffington Post addressing its charges only in the context of other allegations, rather than backing them head-on:H/t: JoeInGeneva"The National Enquirer's coverage of a vicious war within Sarah Palin's extended family includes several newsworthy revelations, including the resulting incredible charge of an affair plus details of family strife when the Governor's daughter revealed her pregnancy. Following our John Edwards' exclusives, our political reporting has obviously proven to be more detail-oriented than the McCain campaign's vetting process."The McCain camp issued a full-throated denial and threatened to sue, though it's worth noting that Edwards at first outright denied the Enquirer's affair charges in late 2007.

Will this gift ever cease giving?
Gooooooody. I need some good news. She's a bitch pure and simple. Or bastard as the pc crowd would ask.
I can think of all sorts of innocent reasons why this would be done to protect this man's privacy from the scrutiny that is coming his way. For example, the cause of the divorce has no relationship whatsoever to either Palin, but because of the rumor, reporters will go through it, eventually releasing details of a personal or familial nature.
Where there's smoke, there's fire.
Paddy, I had a convo with Mrs. C yesterday about whether or not we should be using gendered term when discussing Palin. For example, no matter how factually shrill her voice is, it's very problematic for a U.S. Senator to actually describe her as "shrill." Just too much going on with that word for reasons I won't go in to here.
I asked Mrs. C if she thought it would be wrong to instead use derogatory terms normally associated with masculine characteristics, i.e. prick, dick, bastard, etc. She thought that it just sounded strange. I somewhat agree with her, but it's difficult not to point out the fact that Palin is a prick.
Look closer:
The Palins' former business partner, Scott Richter, had an emergency motion to seal his divorce records denied in Alaska yesterday:
I believe it's the same link:
http://www.courtrecords.alaska.gov/pa/pa.urd/pamw2000.docket_lst?68762762
I can imagine some republicans offering Richter lots of money to race over and TRY to seal those court documents.
Motion denied. Don't know if they can go to a higher court or not. I would assume they can.
I posted them above.
I should have said, I posted what you get when you follow the link that won't open because of overuse.
: )
Beeeuuuteeefools!
Think maybe someone was living out the film, "The Ice Storm?"
I've noticed that The National Enquirer has been correct in some of its political figure reporting in the past few years (unfortunately for John Edwards), so I don't discount them out of hand the way I used to. *gulp*
I bet that S. Palin was involved with the business partner's divorce. If Bill Clinton could be dragged through the mud when he was campaigning in 1992, then Sarah can just deal with it.
Of course, the part that makes it amusing for me is that she has been portraying herself as a tough but pious X-tian.
And I love it when these types are exposed for the hypocrites they are, especially when they are as arrogant as she & her supporters are. The Enquirer's market includes many of those people whom the McCain/Palin campaign would like to court. I think it's elitist of McCain/Palin to dismiss The Enquirer.
Good.
I tried the link for the court records for Scott Richter listed above and got some weird no go page. What you can do is google : Alaska Court View and enter his name you'll get the divorce docket as well as some other hits....hmmm, think I'll check Sarah for grins and see what pops up.
I posted the papers up thread. Or whatever they had on that page that we linked to.
I just wonder if Lefty Bloggers are smart enough to feel stupid about all the stuff they have been wrong about yet. LOL

This Lefty or Righty blogger (whatever)lives in Anchorage Ak. And to hear Palin say what she said, and the Rethugs presentation of her at their little convention, had most of us up Here, ummm, slack jawed. What a lieing, self serving, could care less about her daughter, beaatch. She's in so far over her head it's ridiculous even at a local government level. Her foreign policy experience (that's right I forgot we live next to Russia, BFD), let alone her manipulative local level politics is grade school level at best.
