"So much for special needs." A Special Comment on Sarah Palin.

By GottaLaff

From one of our Commenters:

Obama's speech was close captioned.

Palins' was not. I asked my deaf daughter what she thought about the speech. She said she couldn't get it.

So much for special needs.
Period. End of sentence.

Has anyone else figured out if the speech was closed-captioned anywhere?

Once again we learn that the "pro-life" republican party is only "pro-life" when they get to force a woman to carry a fetus to term.

When there is an actual life, however, they don't give a fuck. Every man, woman and child for themselves.

Well, unless you are rich and white.

They don't seem willing to admit that maybe we'd have fewer abortions if there were fewer people perceiving themselves to live in desperate circumstances.

So right, Jon.

I always argue with my fundie anti abortion family that if they really thought abortion was such a horror, they would be supporting things that cut down on unwanted pregnancies. You know, things that work like sex education, readily available contraception, economic options for women.

But they don't care because when it comes down to it, they aren't pro-life at all, they are anti woman. They are pro punishing women for having sex that they don't approve of.

Which is basically any sex that a woman might actually enjoy.

Amen to that, Buckles.

This coming from a single mom of three working for just above minimum wage with no childcare options.

They're actually playing the song "Barracuda!"

I was glad we kept my daughter when she came along, and Georgia Medicaid was a great help. The future of GM has been in doubt since then, btw.

They're playing " Barracuda"? I hope Heart becomes the latest in a line of bands who'll bash the Republicans for using their music.
