Sarah Sled-Poodle believes in freedom of choice (her own, not anybody else's):
Consider that one month before the resolution passed the six-member, part-time city council, in June 2002, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals sided with Michael Newdow — ruling that the pledge’s language violated the First Amendment, which says “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.”From a previous post:
Newdow had sued his daughter’s school district over reciting the “under God” phrase in classrooms, claiming it injured his daughter by listening to teachers assert there is a god.
Palin, a pro-life Christian who ran for mayor on her conservative values, wasn’t going to stand for that. An ardent supporter of the phrase, she defended it again four years later when running for governor.
The pledge, of course, was not written until 1892 and the words "under God" were not added until the 1950s [during the McCarthy era]. From Wikipedia.Not. Fit. For office.

can anyone answer why the posted video below was removed by You Tube? Not trying to be conspiratorial, just curious...It is still on Huff Post

Yes, I can. They removed my Jon Stewart clip too. Comedy Central bans them from YouTube. Copyright infringement.
There are ways to load the clips other than YouTube, and Comedy Central provides some video themselves.
They're real assholes about letting anyone use their stuff.
Thanks
I share much of your stories and other like them on my Facebook page, and this was one of my favorites. Also, the Fox attacks are great to share to get out the bias in Fake, I mean Fox News
Thanks for the info and great Blog.
Any time, Sean. Btw, I'm on Facebook. If you give me your "address" I'll befriend you. : )
"should be LEAD by"?!?!? I believe that would be LED. Am I crazy? Are they crazy? Anyone from the University of Idaho wanna speak up on this one? This is an official document, for Pete's sake!
I guess that would be my last name? Not sure what else address would be...sorry
and yes, would love to be befriended
Soprano, I see that misspelling ALL the time and it drives me nuts. Almost as much as misplaced or unnecessary apostrophe's.
I hate that too. I'm a stickler for grammar and spelling. Grrr.
My grandfather was a writer (way, way back when, literally almost 100 years ago - he was one of the American Press Humorists with Edgar A. Guest & Don Marquis) who was a HUGE stickler for proper English. "It's a tool to be used, not a toy to be played with". My daughter inherited his talent and his sticklerness, but thinks it fun to play with words.
