Prejean threatened walkout before she stepped on to 'Larry King Live' set

When C-Pre glanced over at who I assume was her attorney, gave him a nod (at about 2:05), and mouthed, "We have to leave" (at about 2:24) on the video we posted yesterday, I suspected this had been staged, er, planned:

Upon entering CNN's Washington Bureau Wednesday night, the first words out of Former Miss California Carrie Prejean's mouth to CNN news assistant Christina McAusland were, "You tell Larry if he's not nice to me, I will get up and leave." [...]

She arrived with an entourage of five, (for cable news Green Room context, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., never arrives with a group that large) and barked at a studio operator for touching her hair while setting up her microphone.

Ooo, Diva McDiverson is getting a little big for her fancy pageant walkin', isn't she?

She accused the King staff of lying to her when they sworetogod there would be no phone calls. Those fiends! What could they have been thinking letting a caller slip in? After all, why would C-Pre expect phone calls on a call-in show? Unheard of!

She belittled McAusland saying, "Is the intern talking to me? Oh look at the little intern, look at the little intern trying to explain!"

"I've never been treated so poorly in my whole life," McAusland, who recently accepted an executive producer position at Newsie.com of Media Convergence Group, said.

And now we return to today's episode of "As the Stomach Turns". We last saw our young lad Levi Johnston, new father, son of Sherry, on the Larry King Show, putting up his dukes in preparation for a legal battle over Baby Tripp:

Teen father Levi Johnston dropped a bombshell into the middle of the escalating family feud between Johnston’s family and the family of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, whose eldest daughter is the mother of Johnston’s infant son.

In an interview with CNN’s Larry King, Johnston, his mother, and his sister acknowledged that they have a lawyer and are contemplating taking legal action to protect Johnston’s parental rights.

“That is what we’re going to have to do next,” Johnston’s mother, Sherry, said Wednesday on Larry King Live. “We were just hoping that we wouldn’t have to,” Sherry Johnston also said.

But “that is the step we’re going to have to go,” Johnston’s mother said later in the interview.

And who wouldn't listen to the advice a drug pusher?

While the young father and his mother at times appeared hesitant about the prospect of taking formal legal action, Mercede Johnston, Levi Johnston’s younger sister, seemed anxious to get the brewing custody battle in front a judge.

“I hope it happens soon, to be honest” Mercede Johnston said. “I want that baby in my life just as much as he does.”

Levi Johnston also told King that he is not paying any child support to Bristol Palin right now. “I got everything my boy needs back home – diapers, toys, everything. Once we go to court, we’ll deal with that.” [...]

Johnston and his family told King that Johnston is permitted to visit with his son at the Palin home but is not permitted to take the child away from the home.

Will Levi get joint custody long enough to take little Tripp on a rip-roaring snow mobile joy ride? Will Mama Sherry spike Sarah Palin's moose juice with enough Oxycontin to achieve compliance and avoid a nasty court battle? Will the judge order that the Palin family stop choosing oddball names for their babies?

All these questions-- and more-- will be addressed on the next episode of... "As the Stomach Turns".

King: Earlier this month, [you] wrote a DailyBeast column criticizing right-wing pundit Ann Coulter. Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham fired back at you, including making a comment about your weight. You then gave a straight talk response in an appearance on "The View." What led to that?

McCain: You know, it's so funny. I was in the airport today and this guy goes, "Hey, Meghan, kiss my fat ass." And I was like oh my gosh. That's where this has gone to.

As far as I'm concerned with what's going on with Laura Ingraham, on my end, it's over. There are nine million women in this country suffering from eating disorders. And I'm not going to be bullied around about my weight and what kind of standards I'm not fitting. ...

Larry King's son wants to be black

Just now on CNN, Larry King said his 8-year-old son was so impressed with President Obama that he now wants to be black.

If this kind of admiration becomes a trend, it would be one of the best things that ever happened to this country.

And that would be the most exquisite slap in the face to bigots everywhere. Yum.

Bush is a saint

I'm watching Larry King Live right now, and the panel consists of Dana Perino, Ari Fleischer, Josh Bolten, and Andy Card. Gosharootie, they're polite, conscientious, and respectful. And they smile as if they mean it. They're the bestest!

Why, had it not been for these fine, unimpeachable* standard-bearers of Republican values, I might have continued to believe that Bush is a despicable, lying, cowardly, drunken, imbecilic, shallow, murderous, delusional, sadistic piece of excrement.

But after soaking in the lavish praise and reverence of this lustrous team of devotees, and even learning that Bush is someone who "never stifles debate", I'll have to do some serious rethinking. How could I have been so wrong?

*Literally.

Because I'm apparently a masochist, I'm watching Larry King Live. Right off the bat, this nugget of a quote popped out:

Larry King: Ben, is it over?

Ben Stein: Well, there's always prayer.

Arianna Huffington is on the show, too. She's saying that Grammps has destroyed his legacy and undermined the Republican party, and that IWRC* Palin was like "the clock that struck 13."

Stein agreed: Palin is "arrogant" and "not a heavy hitter".

If anything else sounds interesting, I'll update.

UPDATE: The youth vote isn't turning out in Florida yet. Only 15% have shown up, but--and I can personally attest to this-- they procrastinate.

Just now on Larry King Live, I caught a snippet of conversation between Larry King and John King: The King Twins. John was looking at the electoral map and said Gramm-pa McCain had a real uphill climb. Larry agreed, saying something like, "Yeah, he's really up against a wall" or something similar.

Then John said this:

There's time, but he has to be perfect in the final days... perfect.

He emphasized "perfect" in a way that, well, if I were Grammps, I'd be worried.

In fact, he is worried. I'm now watching Grammps in his interview with Larry, and he insists... insists, I tell you... how well he and Sarah get along and how he "couldn't be happier."

He's really, really happy. Ecstatic! Honest! Yes, he just tried to convince us how very, very, truly, really, honestly happy and ecstatic and zippity-doo-dah whistly delirious he is.

And failed.

Ex-Bushie David Frum just conceded the election to Obama, Bay Buchanan came close

On Larry King Live just now, Republican, ex-speech writer for Bush just said the election was lost for Gramm-pa, and Bay Buchanan struggled to deny the truth of Frum's statement. Frum went on to say his party should concentrate on the Congressional races.

Susan Eisenhower, Dwight Eisenhower's granddaughter, had no trouble supporting Obama. She endorsed him back in February:

Larry King is morphing into David Letterman

Just now on CNN, Larry King took time out of his interviews to slap down Gramm-pa McCain for not keeping his promise to appear on his show after "abruptly" canceling awhile back. Larry went so far as to show a video clip in which Grammps makes the vow.

Oh-h, suh-nap!

IWRC* Palin/TrooperGate reaction

I'm watching Larry King Live. Jonah Goldberg... well, 'nuff said, plus Stephanie Miller (who I think I was in another life), Lanny Davis, and some other Republican radio guy.

Jonah says the Palin report is nothing. Of course he does.

Lanny is somewhere in the middle.

Steph is snickering (not literally, but if you know her at all, you know she's laughing hysterically inside and that tomorrow's show will be killer).

They spent all of 5 minutes on this. They're already on to the campaigns. Larry King said the Palin issue isn't all that relevant to the campaign (in so many words). On to other matters...

I'll update as information comes in.

UPDATE: A few of my own thoughts:

• Whether Republicans think she's cleared or not, she is now riskier than ever. Certainly not trustworthy.
• If she hasn't "broken any laws", fine. She's still on the ticket, and that's where we want her.
• Gramm-pa's judgment is even worse than it was an hour ago, if that's even possible. And that continues to work against him.

On Larry King Live just now, the always-nausea-inducing Ralph Reed just made the claim-- again-- that campaign 2008 would be much less vicious if only Obama would have agreed to multiple town hall meetings.

Their campaign is seriously reality impaired. Does the Palin/McCain team actually think that repeating this incessantly actually helps them? They must, because they repeat it every chance they get. I have yet to see any impact.

Meghan McCain is up next. She doesn't want to talk politics, just about her book... the one about her dad, who's, you know, running for president... her kindred spirit... because, as mom says, she's "John McCain in a dress". But let's not talk politics.

Except for the McCain Blogette plug just now. And how great her dad is.

Except for discussing Sarah Palin and sexism. And her father. Who she is in a dress. And how "fantastic he is in town hall meetings"... off the cuff. And stuff.

She thinks everyone is being "pretty respectful" in this campaign. But please, let's not talk politics.

Except for the video they just showed of her and Piper Palin who's the best ever! But no politics, Larry, please.

Except the part about Bristol Palin. And about her dad again. And how people should support Bristol. And how she's "obsessed" with Sarah Palin, how she's such a role model, a strong, friendly, smart, pop-culturally-savvy, "just a mom", shrewd woman who makes a great team with her dad. But no politics, Larry. Come on.

Whatever you do, let's not talk politics. She just called her father "the president" by accident.

VIDEO: John Sidney McCain lied to Larry King

J Sid won't let anyone get near his sled-poodle for fear she'll reveal her inexperience and extremist views.

That makes John Sidney McCain a liar, and he lied to millions of people right there on national television. What's worse: He lied to the one and only Larry King:

McCain is breaking a promise he made on national television. In July, during an interview with CNN’s Larry King, McCain assured King that his running mate would appear on King’s show shorty after his announcement:

KING: We have a history on this program that whenever the vice presidential nominee is announced, he or she appears on this show the next night. It’s been going on for quite a while. We hope that Senator McCain follows that tradition since I have a hunch he will not announce tonight who that candidate is.

But how close are we?

MCCAIN: I want to say that that vice presidential candidate will be on your show. I will not risk the wrath of Larry King. I want to assure you.
