UPDATE: Look who was on "Hannity and Colmes" a couple of years ago. Apparently he loves attention, and yes, I gave him some here. However, my position has nearly always been that calling someone out and exposing them is preferable to turning our backs:

People like this exist. We see them on TV, we hear them on the radio, we read them on Twitter and Facebook.

We saw hatred spewed yesterday at the Tea Party rally. Whether this tweeter is doing this for "kicks" or is sincere, the fact is that he is putting more vicious, sick hate speech out there.

It's catching. It takes just one final utterance of encouragement to push some wacko over the edge, one last flip of the switch.

There has been a noticeable uptick in public bile like this. It is getting out of hand, and it is highly contagious. Sadly, America has come down with its own strain of virulent flu. T1P1, which is mutating as we speak.
