Trig Photography? A Tale of Two Babies by Sarah Palin

By GottaLaff

I'll tease you here, but it's Gryphen who has the meticulous details:

Isn’t that odd? I don’t remember the Trig Palin who was photographed so many times on the campaign trail having that particular malformation.

Oh that is because he didn’t.

In fact it appears that Trig Palin has two absolutely perfect little ears. [...]

In fact here is a direct quote from one medical professional:

"There is an approximately zero percent probability that these two sets of ears belong to the same infant." [...]

As Andrea Friedman pointed out so eloquently: "My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes"." Perhaps with this new evidence we can understand, now more than ever, why Sarah treats this child like a prop. Because that is EXACTLY what he is.

Go here for the rest. I'm not sure what to make of this whole thing, but it is fascinating reading.

What are white Arizonans so afraid of?

By GottaLaff

(close up with added highlighting)

Why do so many white people need so many guns? Are they revving up for that Palin-supported, Tancredo-infested Tea Bagger Revolution?

Or are they just very concerned about an impending uptick in armed Arizona burglars?

Or could it be the New Rules?

U.S. commanders startled: Iraq restricts American troop activities

By GottaLaff

Iraq seems to be breaking up with us:

The Iraqi government has moved to sharply restrict the movement and activities of U.S. forces in a new reading of a six-month-old U.S.-Iraqi security agreement that has startled American commanders and raised concerns about the safety of their troops.

In a curt missive issued by the Baghdad Operations Command on July 2 -- the day after Iraqis celebrated the withdrawal of U.S. troops to bases outside city centers -- Iraq's top commanders told their U.S. counterparts to "stop all joint patrols" in Baghdad. It said U.S. resupply convoys could travel only at night and ordered the Americans to "notify us immediately of any violations of the agreement."

The strict application of the agreement coincides with what U.S. military officials in Washington say has been an escalation of attacks against their forces by Iranian-backed Shiite extremist groups, to which they have been unable to fully respond.

If extremists realize "some of the limitations that we have, that's a vulnerability they could use against us," a senior U.S. military intelligence official said. "The fact is that some of these are very politically sensitive targets" believed to be close to the Shiite-dominated Iraqi government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

The new guidelines are a reflection of rising tensions between the two governments. Iraqi leaders increasingly see the agreement as an opportunity to show their citizens that they are now unequivocally in charge and that their dependence on the U.S. military is minimal and waning. [...]

The Americans have been taken aback by the new restrictions on their activities. The Iraqi order runs "contrary to the spirit and practice of our last several months of operations," Maj. Gen. Daniel P. Bolger, commander of the Baghdad division, wrote in an e-mail obtained by The Washington Post.

Great. What next...

Geithner and his Jewish Demon Horns

By GottaLaff

Do I make you horny, baby?

http://www.election-trends.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/picture-8.png
A little back, I wrote a post noticing that there are a lot of Google searches for “is Geithner Jewish?” and similar questions. [...]

First things first: No, Tim Geithner is not Jewish.

Moving on: The original blog post is in the top 10 on Google for the search “geithner jewish” and probably a host of similar searches. And because of this, the post is receiving some traffic for these searches, which gives me a little more data to look at. Here are the top 10 searches containing “geithner” that delivered traffic to this blog this week:

The list, unfortunately, doesn’t reveal much about the intent of the searchers. (with the exception of “geithner creepy jew?” HOLY MOLEY, I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried). But when the list starts filling up with “geithner jewish demon horns,” I’ll be sure to let you know.

Yours,

The Google Pollster

"Geithner a creepy jew"?? Questioner a creepy jerk bigot?

U.S. Marshals escorted Fox sportscasters from World Series, NFL playoffs

By GottaLaff

Your taxpayer dollars at work:

A new report by the Justice Department's inspector general finds that a lawyer for the U.S. Marshals Service arranged for the Marshals Service to provide a private escort for the limousines of Fox's star broadcasters, Joe Buck and Tim McCarver, after two World Series games at Fenway Park in 2007.

The report also found that the lawyer, Joseph Band, had arranged for a US Marshals escort for Buck and colleague Troy Aikman, the former Cowboys star, after a January 2008 NFL playoff game in Tampa.

Band was working as a paid statistician for Fox Sports at the time.

I was going to call the Marshals Service to facilitate my little jaunts down those bothersome jam-packed L.A. freeways, but Buck and McCarver beat me to them. What the Fox is up with that?

Hannity and Sharpton?

I don't get the addition of Meatloaf, but the idea of Sharpton, Bachmann and Hannity in the same room together makes my head hurt.

The new Alan Colmes-less Hannity premieres Monday with frequent Fox News guest Al Sharpton filling the liberal seat on Sean Hannity's newly christened "Great American Panel."

Rep. Michelle Bachman (R-Minn.) will fill the seat on the right. (And she should have plenty to talk about given the Senate dispute in her state between Al Franken and Norm Coleman.)

The X-factor on the panel: Meatloaf.

Heighten security! Donate to Team Sarah! Put an end to "devilish" liberal bloggers' "frameup" of Palin!

By GottaLaff

This e-mail was forwarded to me by one of our readers. Good lord. Who are these people? Maybe they should take a gander at this before they invest their hard-earned bucks (those would be the same bucks that nobody has any more) on a donation to Team Sarah.

But, you guys, I mean, oh em gee, we liberals are "so "busted*"! This is "*so* going to blow up in our faces":
A message to all members of Team Sarah

Reply to teamsarah08@gmail.com.

Team,

Happy New Year and let's bring you up to date.

We caught red-handed a conspiracy at an awful site plotting to use dirty tricks to undermine Team Sarah. Their main tactic is to join and then to plant racist, scandalous, and other horrid content, or to tempt innocent members into doing so. Devilish! And then, we suspect, they plan to take their postings to a liberal blogger as "evidence."

In a word, a "frameup."

Well, Bill Collier, with a major assist from TeamSarah member Kelly S, and others, has them so *busted*! Among other things we have over 40 pages of evidence of their planning. This is *so* going to blow up in their faces, totally discrediting any liberal blogger who falls for their scheme. You can read Bill's post on RedState about the plot here: http://www.redstate.com/freedomist/2009/01/02/liberal-conspiracy-to-frame-and-defame-teamsarah-busted/.

Don't just read it! Send it around -- with an invitation to join us here!

We have heightened security, requiring more stringent review of new members, and putting on many extra security measures. More details soon! We will do whatever it takes to maintain the integrity of Team Sarah. This is kind of expensive, so a heartfelt thanks to all those community members who have already used our little red Donate button to send whatever they can easily afford -- whether $5 or $1000, we are so grateful for this support. It Matters! Thank you!

Our hearts are warmed by emails of praise for how hard we are working. And even moreso by this community's lionhearted fortitude in dealing with those who violate our terms of use by quietly reporting an issue (rather than getting into arguments).

The bigger and more powerful Team Sarah grows, the more attacks we can expect. But the stronger we are at repelling them. We are inspired by the courage and grace of Sarah Palin! And by yours.

Emily

Thank you again for any donation you can afford.

Visit Team Sarah at: http://www.teamsarah.org
If only we had their "lionhearted fortitude". Cuz, you know, like, "It Matters!" With a *Capital M*. And *extra* exclamation points!!

Why Sarah Louise Palin! Wearing Only A Towel to Greet McCain Staff?!

By GottaLaff

It must have been a $150,000 towel. That way she could justify it as being part of her Very Important Wardrobe. From that Newsweek Special Election Project via Huffington Post:
At the GOP convention in St. Paul, Palin was completely unfazed by the boys' club fraternity she had just joined. One night, Steve Schmidt and Mark Salter went to her hotel room to brief her. After a minute, Palin sailed into the room wearing nothing but a towel, with another on her wet hair. She told them to chat with her laconic husband, Todd. "I'll be just a minute," she said.

If Joe Biden had done that.... Wait. No. Ahem. If Michelle Obama had done that, can you imagine the field day the press would have had?

Seriously, this is another "WTF Moment" brought to you by Sarah Louise Palin, Alaska's little darlin', McCain's little whimlet, and election '08's little disaster.

From the Department of WTF? Joe the Mask

By GottaLaff

I've searched everywhere for photos (I saw one on the Tee Vee Machine), but couldn't find one, so this will have to do:

A shop in northwest Ohio is offering a Joe the Plumber Halloween mask.

No, they don't have speedy mask makers at the Costume Holiday House in Fremont. The latex Joe face is actually one for another bald man, professional wrestler "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

Even his mask is a fake.

Even so, I hope nobody wears one around the kiddies. It would scare them silly.

Pinch me. Then smack him.

By GottaLaff

UPDATE:

After that [the last quote in the post], McCain said of himself that he just thinks he'd be a better President of the the United States." Some in the crowd booed his statement and shouted, "No!"

Justified.

Um, Gramm-pa? Way too little, way too late:

After days of watching in silence, McCain calms the crowd at his Minnesota town meeting.

I want everyone to be respectful. And let’s make sure we are, because that’s the way politics is done in America.”

Tells one supporter who says he’s scared of an Obama presidency: “I have to tell you, he is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States.”

After a woman calls Obama an Arab, McCain interrupts to say: “No m’am, He is a decent family man, citizen.”

I'm sputtering. Words like "hypocrite", "nut case", "liar", "smear monger", "wtf", "give me a break" are coming to mind, among many others. Sputter, sputter... with lots of exclamation points and a few of these: $@#%!&&*!

Your turn.

UPDATE:

"We want to fight, and I want to fight, but we will be respectful," McCain said to boos at first. "I want everyone to be respectful," he then said and people began to clap.

In response to a later question he added, "You can be respectful and point out facts," as he called on his supporters to point out facts to their neighbors but be respectful.

After that, McCain said of himself that he just thinks he'd be a better President of the the United States." Some in the crowd booed his statement and shouted, "No!"

Gramm-pa McCain's new web ad jumps the gun, Part 2

By GottaLaff

Here's text via Chris Cillizza to go along with the visuals I posted below:

Although the fate of tonight's presidential debate in Mississippi remains very much up in the air, John McCain has apparently already won it -- if you believe an Internet ad an astute reader spotted next to this piece in the online edition of the Wall Street Journal this morning.

"McCain Wins Debate!" declares the ad which features a headshot of a smiling McCain with an American flag background. Another ad spotted by our eagle-eyed observer featured a quote from McCain campaign manager Rick Davis declaring: "McCain won the debate-- hands down."

Not only do these guys live in the past, but apparently they can now foretell the future, too.

Gramm-pa McCain's lost marbles

By GottaLaff

Yesterday, I posted about what passed for the first joint town hall meeting with Gramm-pa and his granddaughter. Here are some more highlights, along with an accurate assessment of Gramm-pa's deteriorating mental capacity:

John McCain will not only take on special interests and Washington insiders, he'll fundamentally alter human nature. And without raising taxes, either. He'll lead us to a sort of martial nirvana where all other emotions are replaced with patriotism, and turn the United States into a shining, selfless, bipartisan cross between heaven and Sparta.

Or maybe he's just a desperate shell of a man, babbling glorp.

If Reverend Wright went around shouting stuff like "We're going to put an end to greed!" people would start thinking he was some kind of fruitcake.

Now let's take a second look at that town hall meeting:

You might think "I'll end greed" would be the most mortifying thing John McCain could say at one sitting. You'd be wrong. At Wednesday's town hall -- his first with Sarah Palin -- he topped himself with this explanation of her credentials:

"She has been commander in chief of the Alaska National Guard. Fact. On September 11 a contingent of the Guard deployed to Iraq and her son happened to be one of them so I think she understands national security challenges."

Which is fine except:

The governor of Alaska doesn't command the National Guard in combat overseas.

Sarah Palin didn't deploy anyone anywhere on September 11th. She was a guest speaker at an Army deployment ceremony.

Track Palin isn't in the National Guard; he's in the Army.

Sometimes it seems like it's more than John McCain can handle, just keeping all the lies about Sarah Palin straight in his head. Tomorrow he'll say she's in the Air Force herself, on a plane she bought on eBay, bombing the bridges at Toko-Ri.

And the piece de resistance:

"I know how to win wars! I know how to win wars!" -- John McCain 7/15/08

I know this is a sort of threadbare exercise -- the old switcheroo -- but imagine what would happen if Barack Obama got the Army and the National Guard mixed up.

What's even more threadbare are what's left of the contents of Gramm-pa's head.

John McCain and the POW church riot

What the HELL is this? The man has been in public office for almost 30 years, wrote books and had a FREAKING LIFETIME MOVIE MADE OF HIS STORY, and NOW we hear about this, two days before a "Faith Forum"?

HARRISBURG, Pa. — They called it the church riot.

Sen. John McCain, who is known for his reticence and even discomfort invoking faith on the campaign trail, was once dubbed a "Hell's Angel" for rioting against his captors in Vietnam in order to hold Sunday church services.

It is a story unknown by a public still getting to know McCain and searching for shared values with the candidates. This Saturday, McCain and Sen. Barack Obama will separately answer questions from evangelical leader Rick Warren at his Saddleback Church in Southern California.
