Video- Fox wants more Muslim tagging, ignores fact that a Muslim first noticed the bomb

They won't be happy until we're all running around like our hair is on fire screaming "MOOOSLIM". Via Think Progress-
Aliou Niasse, a street vendor selling framed photographs of New York, said that he was the first to spot the car containing the bomb, which pulled up right in front of his cart on the corner of 45th street and Broadway next to the Marriott hotel.

“I didn’t see the car pull up or notice the driver because I was busy with customers. But when I looked up I saw that smoke appeared to be coming from the car. This would have been around 6.30pm.”

“I thought I should call 911, but my English is not very good and I had no credit left on my phone, so I walked over to Lance, who has the T-shirt stall next to mine, and told him. He said we shouldn’t call 911. Immediately he alerted a police officer near by,” said Mr Niasse, who is originally from Senegal and who has been a vendor in Times Square for about eight years.

Mr. Snowman has the right idea: Turn off Fox

By GottaLaff

BuzzFlash has a campaign going called Turn Off Fox. While I deal with a few tech issues on my end, read all about it (via an e-mail from Mark Karlin):

Here's one recent example from a reader:
I was in my local K-mart and noticed that they had FOX news on the TVs in the electronics dept. I voiced my complaint to the person working there, which got me nowhere, but as I was leaving the store I saw a "feedback" number posted by the service desk. So when I got home I called and got a nice sounding fellow who seemed actually concerned over my displeasure. I suggested to him that aside from offending me, I thought the use of such a polarizing channel was stupid for business, and that they should have something neutral on the display. He agreed and said that he would pass it up the corporate ladder as well as sending an alert to the store manager to CHANGE THE CHANNEL!!!!!!! I think I won this skirmish.
Every victory over the fraudulent reporting at FOX News counts. If you have any new ideas or success stories of your own, please do send them in to us at turnofffox@gmail.com. They keep us inspired to work diligently and will assuredly help us encourage others.

Otherwise, let it snow when we have no control, but if you stay inside, remember to continue the campaign -- and to Turn Off FOX.

VIDEO: "If Fox can't be part of it, we won't be part of it"

By GottaLaff

Getting a little clubby, aren't we?

Hey! How about this? If Jeff Gannon can't be part of it, we won't be part of it. Let's not forget his noble efforts, because it make just as much sense and is just as legitimate as taking ClusterFox seriously.

This is downright illogical:

The White House attempted to block Fox News from a round of interviews with "pay czar" Kenneth Feinberg Thursday, but the Washington bureau chiefs of the five TV networks included in the White House pool refused to interview Feinberg unless Fox News was included. [...]

"I'm really cheered by the other members saying "No, if Fox can't be part of it, we won't be part of it,'" Baltimore Sun TV critic (and regular Fox News detractor) David Zurawik said Thursday.

"What it's really about to me is the Executive Branch of the government trying to tell the press how it should behave. I mean, this democracy -- we know this -- only works with a free and unfettered press to provide information," he said.

Note to bureau chiefs: ClusterFox is not a news station. They are a source of vicious propaganda.

Question to bureau chiefs: Where were you when BushCo shunned journalist who didn't agree with them?

ClusterFox Watch: Can You Show Pornography and Call Yourself a 'News' Network?

By GottaLaff

Your Daily Dose of BuzzFlash, via my pal Mark Karlin:
Well, the corporate mainstream media is by and large defending FOX against accurate and unusually candid characterization by the White House. [...]

That's why we wonder if BuzzFlash switched to posting pornography, Ms. Marcus would defend us as a news organization, immune from criticism from the White House. It's positively daffy to consider FOX a legitimate news outlet. [...]

You can support the White House, sanity, democracy, and give a big "up yours" to the corporate media by joining the Turn Off FOX campaign here.

FOX reaches a small majority of Americans, but its influence is broad because it pushes the media so far to the right and makes insurrection and lying acceptable as "news." It is as legitmate a "news" station as a channel showing the latest pornography or broadcasts of "Tokyo Rose."

Jake Tapper of ABC was furious at a White House press briefing that they should be so unfair as to criticize FOX. This is what happens when you let a corporate media control what is "news."
Please go here for the whole thing.

ClusterFox can try all they want to convince us that they're a "news" channel. Ain't gonna work, Elmers:

The White House had it right. For ClusterFox to delude themselves is laughable. However, it's not like they're being hurt by the feud.

ClusterFox v. The White House

By GottaLaff

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-83utWuU81iHiWAtEf1oqNXKtS7nsVAwFUqZW8u8EXx6gVPwnmR1LJqe-F9kn7ddpjmFJZ5tR4Ep2l1wr2x_ZX0RYc9K2DRGeD-Ck2GVkaZ82_r1p6XYHvpZCQz5qKTTpsquoTtSW4WU/s200/clusterfox.jpg

The other day Anita Dunn told the truth about Faux News. Now Faux is proving her point:
On Sunday, a White House official attacked the cable news channel as being essentially a wing of the Republican party. Fox spokesmen were sure to respond, which is swell, but read the one-sided "news" story at Fox site.
ClusterFox is covering the White House's coverage of ClusterFox's coverage, and their coverage of said coverage is confirming the White House's coverage of their coverage. Clear?

Thanks. I'm here all week.

VIDEO-- Fat head at Fox News: Surgeon General too fat

By GottaLaff

"She shouldn't even be considered Surgeon General." And Faux Noise shouldn't be considered a news channel, but that doesn't stop them:

In support of this argument, they had on as a guest some guy wearing a "No Chubbies" T-shirt. [...]

It's not just Fox. ABC has a straight news story about Benjamin's weight. I don't remember C. Everett Koop being svelte. But then he wasn't black or a woman. [...]

The Fox guest is quite a character. His name is Michael Karolchyk, and he runs an outfit in Denver called the Anti-Gym (NSFW), a fitness club with an emphasis on getting clients in shape for sex: "With live DJs, cage dancers, and our elite co-ed Ravish Room, Anti-Gym boasts the hottest facilities and clientele in Denver."

More about that, and the "Ravish Room" here. Stellar guest on a stellar channel.

Fox needs a "Rubbish Room".

VIDEO- Fox Reporter Gets Taste Of Ambush Journalism: Avenging Amanda Terkel

By GottaLaff

Remember this and this and this? Of course you do. What's that phrase again? Oh yeah: Turnabout is fair play:

Fox News is well-known for taking the tactic of "ambush journalism" to gratuitous lengths to get footage for air of their pet targets getting freaked out on the streets of this fair nation. [...]

Adam Green of OpenLeft espied Fox's Griff Jenkins outside a convention for ACORN, a community organizing group who Fox is relentlessly working to depict as a band of Uruk-Hai bent on the destruction of Western civilization. Jenkins was dressed in a tuxedo (he likes to play dress-up!) and standing by a "red carpet" (actually, a sad red doormat), hoping to interview people for something that was sure to be substantive, given the set-up and artifice! So, Green turned the tables on Jenkins, and confronted him about whether Fox reporters are issued memos laden with GOP talking points! It all sort of gets under Jenkins' skin, just a little bit.
Wait, so... Fox considers bloggers members of the news media? I've been promoted? Why am I always the last to know? Hey, Paddy, guess what...?!

VIDEO-- Hannity: Only Fox News Deserves ‘Unprecedented Access’ To The White House

By GottaLaff

Upside down world:

As Media Matters first noted, when Fox News’ Bret Baier was granted “unprecedented access” to the White House in Feb. 2008, the network billed it as a “documentary,” not an “infomercial.” Further, Fox was not only welcomed into the White House, but aboard Air Force One, to Bush’s ranch in Texas, and into the Oval Office. Baier introduced the “documentary” saying, “Fox News has been granted unprecedented access inside the President’s world. … It’s a President Bush you’ve never seen before.”

Prior to airing the Bush special, Baier hosted a special on the famously-reclusive vice president entitled “Dick Cheney: No Retreat.” Fox billed it as “a rare glimpse into the life of the vice president” and aired the program Oct. 13, 2007. Similarly, on Oct. 30, 2007, Fox’s Greta Van Susteren was granted what she called “unprecedented access” to First Lady Laura Bush’s tour of the Middle East.

In the period leading up to Fox gaining such access to the Bush White House, former Fox News Sunday host Tony Snow was serving as White House Press Secretary, leaving office just weeks before Bair’s first documentary aired.

The Life of the Vice President, Boy Georgie's Prairie Chapel, Pickles Goes to the Middle East, and having a Fox plant as a White House employee vs. devoting time to health care reform that could potentially save lives. How dare President Obama?!

What's wrong with this picture? Hint: Everything.

Obama Note Girl Denied Fox Interview?

By GottaLaff

http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/original/cnn_6-12.jpghttp://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/original/msnbc_6-12.jpg

Remember Kennedy, the fourth-grader who got an excuse note from the president his very own self? Apparently Faux Noise would rather forget about her. Consider yourself lucky, Kennedy:
Well now Kennedy Corpus (and her dad, John, who brought her) is enjoying a bit of a spotlight, and will appear on NBC's Weekend Today show tomorrow morning.

They also have made the cable rounds: MSNBC at 11:54amET, CNN at 1:33pmET...but no Fox News.

Sources tell TVNewser the Corpus family was told by NBC they were not allowed to do the FNC interview, which was slated to take place during "Happening Now" (11am-1pmET). The interview with Fox News had to be canceled at the last minute.

An NBC spokesperson tells TVNewser: "We agreed that she could honor any interviews she scheduled prior to the Weekend Today booking."

Party poopers. Maybe Obama should write a note on their behalf, too, saying there is absolutely no excuse for these dufi.
