VIDEO- Rep. Alan Grayson on Palin: "She's an Inspiration to Quitters All Over the Country"
By GottaLaff
Leave it to Grayson to give it to us straight, and, well, give it to Quitty McDingbat straight between the eyes:
"She's an inspiration to every student at school that cheats.... She just wants to make money."
His Medicare You Can Buy Into plan is something I have signed on to (via petition). He has at least 80 co-sponsors so far, and now that health care reform is becoming a reality, this looks more promising than ever. Go Alan!

Palin: "I'm never going to pretend like I know more than the next person."
By GottaLaff

'Divide and conquer' againBut come on, she's pretty-y-y-y!
Re "Palin's on the 'beer track,' " Opinion, Feb. 12
Ron Brownstein talks about Sarah Palin using class division to possibly shape the 2012 GOP presidential race.
The fact that she is using class warfare to gain attention and prominence isn't disturbing; the strategy of "divide and conquer" has been used for centuries.
What's disturbing is the large number of Americans who are supporting her campaign of ignorance. She stated during her "tea party" speech in Nashville that "I'm never going to pretend like I know more than the next person." That statement alone should disqualify her from running for president.
At a time when many American citizens base their opinions and judgments on 30-second sound bites and tweets, the fact that a person of Palin's limited intellectual capacity can become a serious presidential candidate is yet another example of the dumbing down of America.

At 31% Ron Paul wins CPAC straw poll, Palin? 7%
By GottaLaff

Ron Paul won the CPAC straw poll.
Via Greg Mitchell:
Fox anchor says "amazing how much support Ron Paul has, I've never seen a politician with such a strong organization." No, not a joke.
Poor Mitt Willard Romney. His winning streak is over.
Results via Mike Madden:
Straw poll at #CPAC10:
Ron Paul wins with 31%,
Mitt Romney 22%,
Sarah Palin 7%,
Tim Pawlenty 6%,
Mike Pence 5%,
Newt Gingrich 4%.
Losey McSevenPercent comes in third. And Newtie? Yeah, no.
Then again, these things don't mean much. But it is fun to snark about.

WTF-O'-The-Day: Tea Bagger edition
By GottaLaff
WTF-O'-The-Day:
"A third party is continuing the liberal agenda."
--A convention Tea Bagger after CNN's Don Lemon asked if they would be starting a third party.
Did anyone else hear that? Soon after, Lemon wrapped up by saying something like:
It's good to see women speaking for the Tea Party. You're both very well spoken, thank you.
I'm sorry, but is there a shortage of Tea Tantrumettes I somehow overlooked?
1. Sarah Palin.
2. Michele Bachmann
3.

By the way, CNN, MSNBC (including dedicated graphics) and many media outlets on the Nets have promoted Sarah Palin's speech as if she were making an announcement to run in 2012. I wonder if she ever filled the room. Those 600 convention attendees may still be able to squeeze in if they really hurry.
Your liberal media at work.

Sarah Palin's property tax problem; ‘I am so sorry I’m such a weasel’
By GottaLaff

When the Democrats were finished with her, they had a 63-page document. There were lots of interesting things in the document, including this.Pg. 48/63 Palin Declined to Appear in Ads for A Candidate Because He Had Not Paid His Property Taxes.
In 2004, it came to light that Republican Rep. Vic Kohring owed the borough $2,277 in unpaid property taxes on property he owns off Knik-Goose Bay Road, according to borough records. “That bothered former Wasilla Mayor Sarah Palin enough that she declined a campaign request to do a pro-Kohring TV commercial. As a former mayor, Palin said, it made her uncomfortable to back someone with unpaid taxes when the city relies on property taxes.” [Anchorage Daily News (Alaska), 10/28/04]
Admirable, huh?
Not so fast:
One more nugget:Recently, Sarah Palin gave an interview to Bill O’Reilly and said her favorite vacation spot was “The middle of nowhere at our cabin in Petersville,” Alaska.
And now we get to the envelope. Inside the envelope was an unsigned letter which read:
Todd and Sarah are now millionaires, but they shirk their responsibility to pay local property taxes.
She talked to the Anchorage Daily News.Pg. 15/63 Palin Called Herself “Such a Weasel” For Not Having a Firm Stand on the Property Tax Cap.
Palin said she has declined requests by Tax Cap Yes to speak in favor of the initiative. Yet, she said, she doesn’t object to her name’s continuing to be listed on the group’s Web site among 10 current or former government officials — half from Mat-Su — in support of the initiative. Palin acknowledged that she was sounding quite the politician. ‘I am so sorry I’m such a weasel,’ she said.”
[Anchorage Daily News, 10/8/00]
That was the tease. Now go read the post.

TeaFail: Bachmann Pulls Out of Tea Party Convention
By GottaLaff
Oh noes! First SchmutzLip McCan'tSpeak can't fill a room, and now this!
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) "has become the latest high-profile conservative to bag the rapidly unraveling Tea Party Convention in Nashville next week," the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
"Bachmann's office cited the same concerns that other Tea Party activists have voiced about the first-of-its-kind national gathering: namely, the for-profit model of organizer Judson Phillips, a self-described 'small town lawyer' with a history of financial problems."
Perhaps if they renamed it the TeaFail Convention.
UPDATE: Add Tennessee Rep. Marsha Blackburn to the list.

VIDEO- Levi Johnston: Sarah Palin tried to have me arrested
By GottaLaff
And now it's time for the next episode of...
As the Palin Spurns:
That's what Johnston told The Insider on Friday, where he appeared to give his response to Palin and Bristol's appearance on Oprah. He didn't say what the alleged charges were, but if we had to guess, we'd go with crimes of fashion...Join us again as Barbie McLipSchmutz reveals that it was Levi who actually carried her baby Trig Paxson Van Palin... so that she could fit into her hip waders when a photo op arose... However...dun-dun-dunnn... as it turns out Levi's baby bump was nothing more than one of his hockey sticks gone wrong.
She had to carry her own baby! To term! But was it her own baby? And whose term was it... really?
Will Barbie take him to court? Will there be sue-age in Alaska? Or was that just Exxon doing its thing again?
And will First Dude let it slip that the real father was none other than.... John Edwards? Is Trig..... half philandering Democrat?!
Stay tuned for the answers to these questions and more on the next... As the Palin Spurns.

Election Poll- Obama Still Ahead of the Republicans
Plenty of reason here to step it up in a big way. But that doesn't look like it's going to happen. Maybe.
Though a new Fox News poll shows President Obama losing his re-election to a generic opponent, 47% to 43%, he trounces each of the real Republican candidates tested.
Obama beats Mitt Romney, 47% to 35%, tops Sarah Palin, 55% to 31%, and crushes Newt Gingrich, 53% to 29%.
Meanwhile, in a congressional ballot test, 38% say they want Democrats to win this year's congressional elections, 37% want Republicans to win and the remaining 25% say "neither" or are unsure.

Porn again
By GottaLaff

I won't reveal more than that. Go here.
Meantime, here is an excerpt separate from the poll portion of the Mudflats post, although it is XXX rated.
Why is it? Because it's a quote from the Sean Hannity show about Scott Brown by Barbie McLipSchmutz. That's a triple X if I ever saw one.
The following Barbie quote is not suitable for children:
“It’s going to send a very strong message that the status quo, even in Massachusetts, the status quo of just accepting the big growth of government and health care takeover measures that it seems capital hill wants to cram down our throats today things are gonna start changing thank god things are gonna start changing, but even and I would love to be able to at some point interview “Senator Brown.” I anticipate victory there, but even if he doesn’t win already poll numbers showing that his message is resonating and his message is just, you know, common sense conservative values, principles, solutions, being plugged in to meet the challenges facing america today. People in his state they’re listening to him and are getting excited about this dynamic candidate.”I don't believe in censorship or I'd have redacted
She really should think about going back to her Run-On Sentence Anonymous meetings. She needs help. Badly.

Palin to address alcohol industry event in Vegas
By GottaLaff

The ClusterFox gig can't hold a candle to this Big Do:
[A]ccording to Craig Wolf, the president and CEO of the Wine and Liquor Wholesalers of America, who announced Tuesday that Palin will keynote the group's annual convention and expo in Las Vegas in early April."Governor Palin is a great supporter of America's free enterprise system and understands that industries like the beverage alcohol industry play a key role in driving our national economy. We're proud and honored to welcome her as a speaker," Wolf said in a statement. "We expect she will share with the convention attendees her analysis of the current political environment and her vision for America's future."
Yes, by all means, hang on to every analytical word Barbie also's out of her mouth. Her gift of in-depth, critical thinking is perfectly suited to an industry that depends on the inability of their clientele to walk and talk unimpeded.
Uh-oh. I feel a caveat coming on...
An aide to Palin was not immediately available to confirm the WLWA appearance.
Aide-ing and abetting the quititude. How many times has Babs backed out of an engagement now? 5? 12? 18139312?
Maybe the sweet scent of succes-- um, 80-proof will entice her to commit.
Or a couple of hundred grand.

Iowa Lawmaker Predicts Palin Bid
Rep. Steve King (R-IA) predicted that Sarah Palin "will seek the Republican presidential nomination and has a good chance of winning Iowa's leadoff caucuses," the AP reports.
Said King: "I think we'll see her in Iowa. There are a good number of people who could win the Iowa caucuses and I would put her in the top five or so who would be in a good position to do so."
"King represents an overwhelmingly Republican district in western Iowa that is key to any GOP candidate's bid in the caucuses. Although he initially thought Palin had ended her political career when she resigned as governor last summer, King said she's recovered and is in a stronger position than before."
Palins lose bid to avoid "media circus" in custody case
Really, we should all thank our lucky stars for this f'd up family. Never a dull moment.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Sarah Palin's oldest daughter appears to have lost her bid to keep a bitter legal dispute with her 1-year-old son's father confidential.
An Alaska judge last week denied Bristol Palin's request to keep the legal proceedings of her custody dispute with Levi Johnston closed.
Palin, 18, filed a petition in early November seeking sole custody of her son, Tripp, and child support payments. She had argued that the scrutiny the case could attract would turn it into a "media circus" that potentially could cause her son embarrassment as he grows older.
(snip)
Levi Johnston, who is seeking joint custody, has pushed for open court proceedings, saying he "just wants a simple case on the merits."
"I do not feel protected against Sarah Palin in a closed proceeding," Johnston said in an affidavit. "I hope that if it is open she will stay out of it. Bristol's attorney is her attorney."

Mitt Romney Hopes for 10,000 at Book Signing
Talk about setting yourself up for disappointment! Via Taegan-
Mitt Romney apparently is looking for Palin-like numbers when promoting his forthcoming book, No Apology: The Case for America's Greatness.
Mitt Romney Central says one of Romney's first book signings will take place on March 13, 2010 at the University of Utah and "expects 10,000 attendees, all of which will receive a signed copy of the new book."

Quote of the Day
Thank g-d I know she had writers because this is actually funny.
"If the election had turned out differently, I could be the one overseeing the signing of bailout checks and Vice President Biden could be on the road selling his book, Going Rogaine."

Palin lands on top of NY Times bestseller list
Wow, I am seriously stunned. It doesn't even have the dagger notation (A dagger (†) indicates that some bookstores report receiving bulk orders.) as Huckabees's and Becks books do.
(CNN) - In the wake of a high-profile two week publicity tour, Sarah Palin's memoir "Going Rogue: An American Life" has landed at the top of the New York Times bestseller list.
The former Alaska governor's book takes over the top spot previously held by tennis legend Andre Agassi's tell-all, "Open."
(snip)
The Associated Press reported last week Palin sold 700,000 copies of her memoir in its first week, a number that far surpasses most political books. But it falls short of the more than 900,000 copies sold of Bill Clinton's 2004 memoir "My Life" during its debut week.

Durbin says Dems won't let abortion divide sink health bill
By GottaLaff
Democratic leaders won't let the Senate's health reform effort stall on the issue of abortion, Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) asserted Monday. [...]Come on, Senators! If only we Progressive women could get as many gay French Marxist socialist fascist commie abortions as we wanted, maybe even one a day, we'd be as content as a Tea Tantrumer at a Palin rally... well, at least half of a rally. Palin's not known to hang around to finish much of anything.
"We've got to find a common ground here," Durbin said during an appearance on KTRS radio in St. Louis. "We cannot let this important issue hit the rocks over abortion."
