VIDEO- Michele Bachmann: "Some" have called Obama the "first post-American president"
By GottaLaff
"Some" have called Michelle Bachmann bats*** crazy. In fact, a lot of "somes", including yours truly. But "some" have never done that on national Tee Vee while holding office. That would be, you know, irresponsible.
So anyway, earlier I posted the live video feed of today's Big Bill Killing event, thanks to The Uptake and Craig Stellmacher. Osborne Ink (aka our pal Matt Osborne) got hold of the segment with you know who.
Bachmann has absolutely no idea what she is talking about. None. "We kill [the bill] because we are free." What does that even mean?
And why is she allowed to speak?
“Obama…Pelosi…Reid…They don’t represent us…right now.” Because there was no election in 2008, or because elections do not have consequences? [...]
The Constitution does, in fact, allow Congress to levy taxes (“mandate”) and appoint enforcement officers (IRS), and such laws are, in fact, binding.
Will someone tell me why the Rushpublics are so obsessed with the number of pages in this or any bill?
And once and for all, I wish they'd leave gratuitous references to god, our veterans, and "indentured servants" out of this... and everything else they muck up.
Seriously, they sound like lunatics. It's embarrassing. People are watching.
Matt has more here.

VIDEOS- CPAC: All the Breitbart lunacy you can stomach
By GottaLaff
Kerfuffles, shouting, sour-faced name calling, rants... Breitbart just can't seem to keep from losing it on a regular basis.
First, this from Dave Weigel (story here):
Next, this from Mike Madden at Salon:
Breitbart yells, defends ACORN investigation: The conservative media honcho says -- loudly -- it doesn't matter whether ACORN aided any real prostitutes.
And what's with the crazed fast-motion head shaking?
You have to admit, he gets all the attention he wants, and, as KagroX puts it, with gusto:
UPDATE: Here's one more, courtesy of my Twitter/Blunt pal, Tommy Christopher and Colby Hall, both of Mediate:
What an ego Breitbart has. If only he earned the right to have one.

Cheney and Cheney team up at CPAC
What a pair. Here's hoping he falls for the bull and runs in '12, it'd be so sweet.
Washington (CNN) - Former Vice President Dick Cheney earned a standing ovation Thursday at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, proclaiming "Barack Obama is a one term president."
Cheney, who was not scheduled to appear, received a warm welcome from the unsuspecting crowd and joked, "A welcome like that is almost enough to make me want to run for office again ... but I'm not going to do it."
During his brief remarks, the former vice president focused on recent Republican electoral success and the future of the conservative movement.
"There are some great years ahead of us. It is very, very important that we succeeed, and I'll do everything I can, but most especially I want to encourage that younger generation," Cheney said. "It really is a remarkable time to be a conservative."

Michele Bachmann has a plan
By GottaLaff
I don't know what's more astounding disturbing: Bachmann's plan or her reliance on and admiration of Glenn Beck and his chalkboard.
Here's what she said, in part, at the right-wing Constitutional Coalition’s annual conference in St. Louis:
Is the country too big to fail? No, the country can fail. We can, we’re not invincible. And we’re so close now to being at that point because the thing is, as Glenn Beck said last night, it is true. The $107 trillion that he put on the board. We’re $14 trillion in debt, but that doesn’t include the unfunded massive liabilities. That’s $107 trillion, and that’s for Social Security and Medicare and all the rest. You add up all those unfunded net liabilities, and all the traps that could go wrong we’re on the hook for, and what it means is what we have to do is a reorganization of all of that, Social Security and all. We have to do it simply because we can’t let the contract remain as they are because the older people are going to lose. So, what you have to do, is keep faith with the people that are already in the system, that don’t have any other options, we have to keep faith with them. But basically what we have to do is wean everybody else off. And wean everybody off because we have to take those unfunded net liabilities off our bank sheet, we can’t do it. So we just have to be straight with people. So basically, whoever our nominee is, is going to have to have a Glenn Beck chalkboard and explain to everybody this is the way it is.Yes, she wants to repeal Medicare and Social Security. That would be a disaster for seniors and for the economy.
Oh and I guess she missed the part where George Bush tried to do that and failed.
Here's one more tasty morsel:
At his speech on Friday, Glenn Beck proclaimed that Bachmann was the only person he trusted in Congress.
Barbie McLipSchmutz better watch out, she's got stiff competition. No pun.

Reinventing theTea Partiers: No more Obama as Hitler, Joker signs
By GottaLaff

(Stephen Crowley, The New York Times )
"They say it had been branded as." Had been branded? When a group of so-called revolutionaries dress up like loons, carry hostile, hateful signs, lie, fear-monger, and scream their way through town hall meetings, they kinda invited that whole "branding" thing. But at the inaugural National Tea Party Convention here this weekend, gone were the placards that protesters carried last year with Mr. Obama’s face wearing a Hitler mustache or superimposed on the Joker. Gone, really, were any placards, unless you count the poster of Sarah Palin in her signature red jacket that hung from one of the wrought-iron balconies of the Opryland Hotel and Convention Center.
Organizers said that anyone “looking too crazy” would have been tossed out. They had a goal that turned out to be shared by pretty much everyone here: to turn the Tea Party into a serious political force, rather than the angry fringe group they say it had been branded as.
Poor them. They've been unfairly branded.
Angry fringe is exactly what they are. It's a little late to shake off that label, although it's just swell of them to try to tone it down. Good for them! Wow. Putting that toothpaste back in the tube. Magic!
In fact, you can see how successful they were at that if you watched Palin's "serious political" speech last night. Not angry fringe-y at all. No, she's her usual knowledgeable, rational self, full of constructive ideas, compassionate, wise, and not at all snide or nasty. In fact, CliffNotes McTelePalmer was as well-prepared as she's always been.
Nope, the Tea Tantrumers don't look "too crazy" any more. They've completely reinvented themselves.

From the Dept. of What Took Ya So Long: GOP Leaders Wary of Bachmann
By GottaLaff
I guess they're just slow learners:
Sources tell Politico that the House GOP leadership is "especially wary" of the damage inflicted on the party's reputation by bomb-throwing Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), who called last year for an investigation into whether members of Congress are "pro-America or anti-America."Wary of Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Dining Room Table)? This Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Dining Room Table)? Come on-n-n-n:
