VIDEO: Fox's Shepard Smith Goes After Sen. Barrasso On Public Option
By GottaLaff
Via Jason Linkins:
Barrasso's response to this is to limply offer up the criticism that "we have not allowed the American people to read the bill," which to my knowledge, does not contain a section entitled, "Oh By The Way, We Are All In Bed With Lobbyists, Like Whores." Smith continues to press the point: "But with every vote against the public option is a vote for the insurance companies, sir, it is."
As much as I appreciate Smith for some informed support of the public option, it's a far rarer thing to see someone in the media, anywhere, who's willing to pin the blame for the degradation of the health care reform package on the toxic relationship between legislators and lobbyists.
Shepard, Shepard, Shepard, don't you realize what you're doing? You're sounding... rational. On ClusterFox. And this isn't the first time. I'm worried for your job. What's to become of you?

Dep't. of Predictable: Far Right Goes After Shepard Smith
By GottaLaff

Rushpublics eating their own is becoming a routine pastime now.As Media Matters noted yesterday, the right-wing has now turned its fire on Smith. On his radio show, Rush Limbaugh mocked Smith’s “whining and moaning and complaining about e-mails”:
LIMBAUGH: As for Shepard Smith whining and moaning and complaining about e-mails, nobody needs to tell me about hateful e-mails, for crying out loud. I get the most vile, sick e-mails attacking me as a “Jew lover” that you can imagine. I don’t read ‘em. I hear about them. [...]
So, Shep, you got nothing on anybody out there. The vile hate that was 24/7 in most of the American media for the eight years of Bush — and particularly from 2003 on after the Iraq war — nobody, nobody at this point in time has ever done, in our society, anything comparable to the kind of hate that we got from mainstream sources.
Allahpundit of Michelle Malkin’s Hot Air wrote that if Smith truly believes his viewers are “would-be presidential assassins,” then “why doesn’t he quit?” Further out on the fringe, conservative blogger Pamela Geller, who writes at Atlas Shrugs, titled a post, “Please Shepard Smith Out the Door!” She followed it up with a post saying, “Shepard Smith has got to go.” Geller’s call for Smith to be fired is beginning to get traction with some conservatives online.
It's amazing how hypocritical these twerps are considering how regularly they poison the airwaves with vile lies and attacks that very possibly result in violence.
When will they finally understand the meaning of the words "consequences", "civility", "bigotry", and "hate speech"?

VIDEO-- Snark attack! Shepard Smith re: Glenn Beck special: "It's bigger than O'Reilly"
By GottaLaff
Snark-infested video, brought to you by... Shep Smith?
Tonight, Glenn Beck is hosting a life special to assure his conservative followers, “You are not alone.” While purporting to promote the special, Fox’s Shep Smith repeatedly mocked Beck and the program, admitting that although he watches Beck’s show, he doesn’t listen to it. Smith also pointed to a giant satellite truck parked outside and wondered if it was for Beck’s “ego.” Chris Wallace told Smith he must be jealous.Beck has to reassure conservatives that they "are not alone" for good reason. He's obviously given a little look-see to their approval ratings.
And watching Chris Wallace admonish Schlep Smith for being a big meanie to poor wittle Glenny was worth the price of admission. I mean, it was, like, sewww middle school: "You are like, totally jealous. Say you're sorreeeee!"
As for Chris Wallace, how will he ever sleep tonight? Boss Limbaugh (not to mention Falafel Bill) will be all over his sorry behind for lauding Beck like that. There's absolutely no room for competition. What's up with Wallace for not realizing that? He's doomed.

Confused John Sidney McCain "clarifies" to Fox about stacking campaign audience
By GottaLaff
Somebody's nose must be growing... and it's Pinocchio Sidney McWhichWayIsUp:
After reporting that the McCain campaign held a townhall with Democrats and Independents, Fox's Shepard Smith admitted that the McCain campaign had done no such thing. [...] "We have now received a clarification from the campaign and I feel I should pass it along to you. The McCain Campaign distributed tickets to supporters, mayor Bloomberg, who of course is a registered republican, and other independent groups."Oh-h-h, so that's what happens to J Sid's memory after he eats recalled tomatoes.
Wait.. this just in: Oliver Willis, I can hardly hear you over that crowd snoring in the background! There hasn't been a mass drugging, has there? Is this the work of terrorists? Hold on, I'm getting a picture on my iPhone... and... why... everyone there is awake! And... I can barely make it out... it's a little grainy... they're entirely white!
Right now John McCain is doing a “town hall” meeting being broadcast by Fox News (The Official Network of McCain ‘08, Home Of The Terrorist Fist Bump) and it’s a mighty amazing trick the McCain camp is pulling. Somehow they’ve gone to the most diverse city in America (New York City) and are seemingly unable to find minorities willing to attend. That's some story! Did you manage to grab some shots of the event?
What a scoop! Good work, Oliver! Stay safe.
