VIDEO: Rachel Maddow "Steins" Dan Stein... again

By GottaLaff

I posted the video of Dan Stein's little visit with Rachel Maddow here. It's gotten quite a response, including over at the Southern Poverty Law Center's site (Thank you SPLC, for acknowledging my new word "Steined").

For all those naysayers, for all those who blasted Rachel, and especially to Danny Boy himself, I dedicate this post. You've been Steined:

VIDEO: Rachel Maddow eviscerates FAIR president Dan Stein

By GottaLaff

The president of FAIR (Federation of American Immigration Reform), Dan Stein, was on the Rachel Maddow Show. It was brutal.

Because of this interview (read: tussle; read: battle; read: slaughter), we have a new word: "Steined"... as in, "You've been Steined by Rachel Maddow".

Witness the peerless Rachel "Stein" Stein:

I don't think ol' Dan thought Rachel was being... FAIR. Oh, the irony.

UPDATE: The Maddow Blog is already fact checking him here.

VIDEO- Palin on Leno show: "There needs to be the fairness, the balance in there — that’s why I joined Fox"

By GottaLaff

Talky McNonsense has completely lost touch with reality. To refer to ClusterFox as anywhere near fact-based borders on delusional.

Did I say "borders"?

But as ThinkProgress has repeatedly documented, opinion leaks into Fox’s supposedly straight news, with breathless promotion of the Tea Party movement, distortions of facts and outright parroting of GOP talking points. Even the company’s own president admitted yesterday that the White House had some “legitimate complaints” during its spat with Fox News last fall.

VIDEO: Fox to air special feature on Obama presidency

By GottaLaff

Aww, how fair and balanced! ClusterFox is giving Prez O some air time... their way:

Fox News will air a special segment titled "President Obama: In His Own Words" this weekend in which the network analyzes the first year of Obama's presidency.

The feature will air clips of Obama speaking both on the campaign trail and as president and will be anchored by Brett Baier, who helms the network's night "Special Report" program.
And what would any ClusterFox special be without a reference to 9/11 and "BowGate"? Why, both of those are even in the promo video!

With the new Supreme Court ruling, think of how many more such "specials" will get air time. Welcome to the new normal.

Fox and Friends- John McCain on Secretary Napolitano

Two problems- First off, why the hell did they fire the person who wrote up the report? What kind of wussy DHS doesn't stand up for itself and make the g-d'd point that what was written in the report was true and written by the Bush DHS??

Secondly, what kind of question is- "How messed up has Homeland Security been since they took office?" /bangs head

Fair and Balanced Fox News Discusses Obama's Meeting With Chavez

Yep, Fox loves this guy Peters. Remember he was the one last week that claimed that the DHS report was a 'racist' attack on white Christians. Fair and balanced... Video via FDL.

Brit Hume falsely claims "everybody agrees ... that the New Deal failed"

Whew, good thing he was at the straight news anchor desk ladling out the "fair and balanced" all those years.

Brit Hume asserted on Your World that "the New Deal -- everybody agrees, I think, on both sides of the spectrum now, that the New Deal failed. The debate is over why it failed," later stating, "President [Franklin] Roosevelt waged what could only be called a jihad against private enterprise." In fact "everybody" doesn't "agree[]" that the New Deal failed; Nobel laureate Paul Krugman, among others, has said that Roosevelt did not go far enough to end the crisis and that his attempts to balance the budget hindered recovery.

VIDEO: Murdoch set up Obama to confront Ailes on Fox coverage

By GottaLaff

Via Think Progress:

Of course, Howie Kurtz was skeptical. Michael Wolff, author a recent Murdoch biography — “The Man Who Owns The News”, stuck to his story.

Sometime last summer, Barack Obama reportedly met secretly with Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes and the network’s owner Rupert Murdoch in an attempt for both parties to “clear the air,” after Obama had received some unfavorable coverage from the network.
Wolff, who claims that Murdoch brought in Obama to criticize Ailes for Fox’s unfair coverage of Obama, also said that Murdoch is “scared of" Ailes... so much so that, apparently, he had to hide behind big, strong Barack Obama and let him do his dirty work for him.

I feel a Worst Person of the World coming on.

Alan Colmes Leaving "Hannity & Colmes"

Wow, I'm gobsmacked. Wonder if Lieberman is thinking of replacing him as the "liberal".

Breaking: Alan Colmes is leaving his position as co-host of "Hannity & Colmes" at the end of 2008.

According to the FNC release, he will stay on as a liberal commentator for FNC and as host of The Alan Colmes Show on FOX News Radio. He will also begin developing a weekend program for FNC.

(snip)

In announcing his decision, Colmes said, "I approached Bill Shine (FNC's Senior Vice President of Programming) earlier this year about wanting to move on after 12 years to develop new and challenging ways to contribute to the growth of the network. Although it's bittersweet to leave one of the longest marriages on cable news, I'm proud that both Sean (Hannity) and I remained unharmed after sitting side by side, night after night for so many years."
