Ordinary Americans to join Obama train

Sometimes this stuff is almost too scooshy, even for me.

Eighteen Americans from all walks of life nationwide will join President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden on their whistle stop train tour to Washington Jan 17, the Presidential Inaugural Committee announced Wednesday.

"These everyday Americans from all walks of life have made extraordinary contributions to the life of this country," the committee said in a statement.

Those contributions include those who have lost their jobs during the recession and "struggle bravely to cope in economic turmoil," a worker who "became a champion for workers' rights" and a soldier who "became an advocate for servicemen and women suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder," it said.
