Chuck Hagel's (R-NE) Wife To Endorse Obama

Obamacans unite!!

The wife of GOP Sen. Chuck Hagel (NE) will throw her support to Obama today in Virginia, the AP reports. Sen. Hagel has yet to endorse, though he accompanied Obama on a trip overseas during this campaign. Also in attendance at the event will be Susan Eisenhower, granddaughter of Dwight Eisenhower. Eisenhower has written an op-ed in support of Obama.

Thank Godness. I hope this opens the door for a slew of Republicans to come out and endorse, not only because the Obama/Biden is a superior ticket with a superior message, but in protest that all Republicans do not agree with the vile language and treatment of the press and our fellow citizens of this country that is being spoken by the McCain/Palin campaign.

Part of the reason for this nastiness from Senator McCain right now is to stem his lose of Republicans who do not like what is occurring right now. Senator McCain and his Campaign are trying to get Republicans across this Country to think of this race as an us versus the bad old Democrats. It might work for a few days, but I don't think it has much chance of lasting longer than a few weeks. I say this as a former Republican who has a family that is still largely Republican.
Watch for a mass exodus of Republican moderates and practical conservatives (the kind that use the past to inform their present actions, and do not consider conservatism to be an ideological club).
