McCain Crazies Drag It Into The Invocation Prayer

The CrAZy doesn't go back in the can that easily John.

Even as McCain tries to tamp down some of the anger, hostility to Obama runs deep.

The Iowa Independent quotes the invocation, delivered before McCain arrived at his Davenport event today:

“There are plenty of people around the world who are praying to their god, be they Hindu, Buddah, or Allah, that (McCain’s) opponent wins. I pray that you step forward and honor your own name.”

They may want to consider asking the Wizard In The Sky to step in and honor their 401k's.

...and they always get it wrong. Buddha was not a god...he was simply a man that became enlightened. He was not a supreme, all hail being that you bend down and "pray" to for salvation...the goal is to become enlightened like him.

anon. you can't expect people who are ignorant enough to say what has been said to actually comprehend a religion other than their own.

to quote my father speaking to his five kids this past christmas:

"I know we all have different religious beliefs, but mine just happens to be right"

go tolerance!

All the press seems competent to do these days is report on McCain and Palin... And most of what comes out is how crazy they are. D.

I wonder where that minister went to seminary. Since when does Heaven belong to any politician.

President Abraham Lincoln said it best and the most humbly (which is how I was taught one should approach Our Lord):

"The will of God prevails. In great contests each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, and one must be, wrong. God cannot be for and against the same thing at the same time. In the present Civil War, it is quite possible that God's purpose is something different from the purpose of either party - and yet the human instrumentalities, working just as they do, are of the best adaptation to effect His purpose."

That invocation is incredibly arrogant. Apparently, that minister does not ask our Lord for guidance; instead, he acts with the belief that "God is always on my side." That is one easy and lazy Faith; I don't see how such a Faith helps anyone live a just and good life.

I've never heard of anyone who prayed "to Hindu". Buddha is not the "God" of Buddhism. And "Allah" is simply the Arabic word for "The Lord" or "God" -- which, it happens, Islam believes is the same God of Abraham that Jews and Christians acknowledge.

If the "Hate Talk Express" still has any wheels left, it certainly doesn't have any roadmaps.

In WWII, German soldiers wore belt buckles inscribed with "Gott Mit Uns" (God is with us). It appears God was not on their side.
