Rachel Maddow: The fact that she went from "still running" to being open to the v.p. slot is news in itself.

On his radio program, while discussing Sen. Barack Obama's presidential candidacy, Rush Limbaugh asserted that the Democratic Party was "go[ing] with a veritable rookie whose only chance of winning is that he's black."
I won't paste any more of his vile rant. If you want to know what else he said, click on the link. I'm in too good a mood to let that sack of venom get in the way. On to more positive news...Tom Brokaw: These are the kingmakers, Montana and South Dakota. What Hillary wanted to do in South Dakota is pile up more popular votes there, and say it's a white, northern state, conservative, and look how well I did. Talking to someone VERY close to the Clintons, the talk will be that she should be veep nominee. The Obama camp? Not so much. They're concerned about Bill Clinton's library donations, his speech fees, etc. among other things. And, he would electrify the Republican base.
Keith: Obama supporters have been really angry all along at Hillary about her attitude re: the veep slot, but Obama's been the calm in the center of the storm.
Chris: Would she "obey" him as v.p.? That's what v.p.'s do. The "obey" the president.
Nora O'Donnell: Exit polls, Hillary supporters are feeling less hostile toward the Obama campaign.
Tim Russert: If Obama concluded he needed Hillary, he would consider her. I spoke to a leading Obama supporter. He said, "She'd be a great member of the Supreme Court." Not ruling it out or in. McCain will be playing for Hillary's constituency now. If Obama does NOT pick Hillary, McCain should pick a woman. ...Virginia, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada matter. Maybe someone with military credentials. The Obama camp finds it "less than gracious" of Hillary to start with the veep talk, trying to force his hand. Obama has said "we have to turn the page on the Bushes and the Clintons", a generational change.
Keith: Obama is upstaging the Republicans by giving his speech at their convention location. He wants to focus on McCain. Now Hillary is becoming a distraction.
