Bill Kristol's track record is so fantastically fantastic, we should all be hanging onto every single word he utters.

Why, here are some now!

Luckily, key parts of Obamacare — especially the subsidies — don’t go into effect until 2014. So what Republicans have to do is to make the 2010 and the 2012 elections referenda on Obamacare, win those elections, and then repeal Obamacare.

Yes, thanks to Greg Sargent, we see that...

... he’s urging Republicans to hurry up and repeal it before Americans decide they like the fact that government’s defending their interests.

This reminds me of the misleading meme about polls reflecting America's dislike of the health care bill... but oops! Once they were polled on each component, it got great reviews.

Is it any wonder Kristol's the go-to guy... for self-annulling, unsound commentary?

Yesterday, I posted about P.E. Obama's impending dinner date with some of the rightiest of the righties. If this were a dating show featuring a Palin documentary filmmaker, we'd see who bonded, who was rejected, who got humiliated, and who might get a call back. Instead, all we get are a few sketchy descriptions from participants whose reliability is dubious at best.

And finally, boffo reviews galore from Larry Kudlow. He makes it sound as if a second date were in their future [insert wolf whistle and heavy panting here]:

Obama dines with George Will, Charles Krauthammer, David Brooks, Bill Kristol

Wowzers, President-elect Obama is even braver than Batman, Superman, and Spidey all rolled into one!

He's dining at the Chevy Chase home of Washington Post columnist George Will with the Post's Charles Krauthammer and the New York Times's David Brooks and William Kristol. All three wrote, at times, both kind and scathing things about Obama, though Kristol in particular pushed sharp attack lines against him in the waning days of the race.

I hope he got his rabies shots first.

And here the righties thought he'd be a weak leader... At the very least, this proves he has a strong stomach.

Worst Prediction of the Year

Man, and as it turns out, Kristol was in my neck of the woods and I didn't even know. I would have baked a pie.... Via Taegan.

In an interview with ABC News, Sarah Palin is now saying she would be interested in remaining a serious national political figure going ahead to 2012. She was asked, what happens in 2012 if you lose on Tuesday - do you simply go back to Alaska - Elizabeth Vargas of ABC News asked her - and Palin said this, and I'll read it to you verbatim according to an ABC transcript:

Absolutely not. I think that if I were to give up and wave a white flag of surrender, I think that some of the political shots that we've taken - that that would bring this whole - and I'm not doing this for naught."

And that's a direct quote from Sarah Palin.

Dana Bash follows up with a Republican official's reaction:

Blitzer: Any reaction yet, Dana, from this blunt statement that she would in fact be interested in leading the Republican Party going forward after Tuesday if they lose?

Bash: I just got off the phone, Wolf, with a senior McCain adviser and I read this person the quote and I think it's fair to say that this person was speechless. There was a long pause and I just heard a "huh" on the other end of the phone. I mean, this is certainly not a surprise to anybody who has watched Sarah Palin that she is interested in potentially a future national run. Certainly she is being urged to be a lot of people inside the Republican Party if they do lose, but it is an if, and people inside the McCain campaign - they do not want ANY discussion that has in "if" in front of it six days before the election.

Hear that? It's the sound of the Republican party splitting in half like a cracked coconut: Those who think IWRC* is a $100,000-packaged disaster on one side, and those (including Bill Kristol and Brent Bozell) who think she's the doggone awesomest ever, blaming Gramm-pa McCain for everything-- even her illiteracy and ethics lapses, on the other.

To create a Palin movement, Bonjean recommends, she should go back to Alaska, because she must remain an outsider. Plus, Palin should use the National Governors Association as Bill Clinton did, to "showcase his skills and make connections." "All of which would set her up for a run on the 2012 ticket," he writes, which leaves open the question — for president, or this time just a better vice presidential candidate? Palin is no doubt a star, and no doubt making plans for her future.
