This man is a fucking blight on MSNBC.
And I'm sure you saw him on Rachel last night. Amazing. He actually propped up his position by saying that this country was 'built' by white males. I'm surprised Rachel didn't pounce on that, but she had her own train of logic going.

Something tells me Buchanan never read Ignatiev or Roediger.
Yeah, whatever you say Pat. But California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas were taken away from them by fraudulent means. And yes they were enslaved when Cortez came and took over their country. When history suits Pat's beliefs he repeats them ignoring basic historical facts.
That said I have been amused hearing the vitriol bigotry coming out of his mouth. The younger generation hasn't seen this and need to. People like him are so yesterday he is entertaining in his crotchety ways. Reminds me of a clown at the circus trying to be serious.
It isn't that Pat Buchanan is ignorant of history, he is willfully ignorant. He doesn't want to know that anyone has been taken advantage of by the white male ethos. They do not so much hate black and brown people but want to keep them subservient so that white men can wage war on them every decade or so in order to prove their manhood and win medals. In the military, it is called 'making rank'. You always need a good war to do that. And for a good war you need some lower case group that it is okay to beat up on. When we stop that, we will be a peaceful world. I am almost looking forward to the day when we white people will be a minority.
