I just heard from one of my PR relatives this am, and the consensus is that these proceedings are not going over well with Hispanics, Latinos and especially Puerto Ricans. Hate to see the Republicans do this to themselves.

And Cornyn is going after the "wise latina" thing AGAIN today? They are soo shooting themselves in the foot.
I watched some of this live yesterday (most of the Graham questioning), and caught bits and pieces on NPR. One thing that almost got my jaw to drop:
Sessions was questioning re: the New Haven/Ricci case. Apparently the consensus was that, yes, precedent law was being applied, that Sotomayor and the other judges were not being activist (my spin).
Then Sessions asks, effectively, "Do you feel like, maybe, you were being a little abrupt in your findings? That maybe you trampled on the feelings of the white firefighters?"
It seemed that he was accusing her of not being empathetic enough. It was a soundbite and I not sure of the context. Maybe he was trying to be funny, although I doubt it. Just plain surreal.
I think it's official -- the KKK has officially taken over the Republican Party. And they're welcome to it.
