MSNBC talking heads: V.P. picks edition

Liveblogging:

Howard Fineman: Chossing Biden is pretty smart on more levels that you can count... He's used to the combat... Joe is in Washington, but somehow not of Washington.

Eugene Robinson: In the attack role, he could be very effective.

Tweety: A quote about Sandy Koufax applies here: He always had speed, but now he's got control.

Financial Times woman: Biden should be sending flowers to Putin. The Russian war did it for him. Plus, this is an economy campaign. They need a killer slogan.

Keith Olbermann: The economy may influence who McCain picks.

Howard Fineman: It's unprecedented to have 3 senators in the race (it already was with 2). Now McCain will need a good debater who appeals to Independents. Biden appeals to the Democratic base. McCain might go with Pawlenty if he thinks he can hold up a debate against Biden.

Financial Times (Freeland): Mitt Romney: Provides economic expertise.

Tweety: Biden and Obama look good standing together. McCain hates standing next to Romney.

Eugene: After this week's number of houses issues, I'm thinking Romney would be taking it in the wrong direction.
