R & B singer Usher will host a voter registration drive in Detroit this afternoon.
The star is scheduled to appear at 3:30 p.m. at presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s Detroit campaign headquarters at 2875 W. Grand Blvd. Usher is coming to town to inspire Obama supporters before they head out to register voters, according to an announcement by the campaign. The event is free and open to the public.
Usher, who serves as one of Obama’s National Voter Registration co-chairs, has also hosted rallies in Georgia and South Carolina.
