Ya know, I don't give a shit who handles the "finances". My mom handled them in her marriage and I handled them in mine. But I'm betting Cindy McCain does not handle the "finances" in her family, a freakin' boatload of accountants and lawyers do. What a lame excuse.

Also explains why the CA condo was in default on the property taxes and came within a couple days of being seized by the sheriff (or whoever does the seizing in CA)

Nobody handles the McCain's damn finances or they wouldn't have owed back taxes on one of the homes.

Eve, you remind me of a scene in The Aviator where Howard Hughes visited Audrey Hepburn's family. At dinner Audrey's mother said she did not care about money, very sanctimoniously. Howard screamed back at her "IT'S BECAUSE YOU HAVE ALWAYS HAD IT!" classic!

He's using the excuse that he did something NOW because of something that happened WHEN HE WAS GROWING UP. That would have been about 40-50 years ago? He hasn't learned better yet?
This man is not fit to be president.
BTW, if he had immediately responded to the question with a number, and then a statement that he wasn't sure it was accurate because he owns rental properties and they are constantly being bought and sold and his wife handles that because he is too busy being a senator, I would have totally been ok with that.
I handle all the finances in my family, including the real estate deals, and my husband is totally aware that we own 3 properties.
