Whew, I was wondering what the hell was going on with that!!
(CNN) – Former Vice President Al Gore has accepted a speaking role on the final night of the Democratic convention, appearing on the same stage that Barack Obama will officially receive the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, three sources tell CNN.
It is unclear what Gore will say in the speech or at what time he will deliver his remarks before an audience that is expected to exceed 70,000 at Invesco Field.
The Obama campaign would not comment on the matter.

New L.A. Times/Bloomberg presidential poll has some surprises later today
Which White House contender had the better summer?
A new Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll of registered voters across the country leaves little doubt about the answer.
We can't reveal the precise figures yet; for that, check back at LATimes.com about 2 p.m. PDT (5 p.m. EDT). Suffice to say that the results will not alter the perception that -- given a seemingly sunny political climate for Democrats -- Barack Obama is under-performing nationally.
Also, a series of questions gauging voter attitudes about candidate attributes makes clear which perceptions Obama needs to shore up between now and election day.
For John McCain, the poll underscores that the more voters focus on domestic issues, the greater the challenge to his hopes of winning the presidency.
And he and his aides might be a bit surprised by the findings when voters are asked whether they view Obama as "too arrogant and presumptuous" and whether McCain could be considered "too hot-tempered."

lets see what the numbers are in 5 hours
As much as I like me some Obama, I still wish Gore would have run. In my heart, I feel that the timing is good for any Democrat, but Gore's chances in this election had the potential to make Lyndon Johnson blush.
McLiar had the "bestest summer ever" after forcing an overseas trip on Obama and then doing nothing but lying and personally attacking and smearing his opponent while he was overseas. And the MSM media has been using the McLiar campaign's talking points day in and day out. So, why are these results going to be SO surprising? Is Obama under-performing or are the Democrats, in general, failing to change the narrative and make this election a referendum on the Republicans and their destructive policies? Where are all of Obama's surrogates who should be on the ground beating the hell out of McLiar and Bush for virtually EVERYTHING that is wrong in this country? Where ARE the Clintons? WTF is Al Gore waiting on? Obama, as far as I can tell, is trying to do this all alone. It's starting to piss me off too.
Democrats NEED to grow a spine as much as McLiar needs to grow the hell up. The Republicans are not going to play fair and the Democrats need to play hardball for once.
