Paddy and Laffy on the Big Sirius Radio Show

By GottaLaff

I was nervous as a cat. The last time I was on the radio was with my old improvisational comedy group, which doesn't count.... and the voice overs/commercials I've done, which are pre-recorded. I've done lots of theatre and improv comedy performances, but this was... you know, like... serious! And big and scary. And serious. Oh, and they disconnected me right after the intro. Perfect. I had to make a long distance call, on my dime, to get on a show to which I was invited!

I was told it would be snarky and casual. It wasn't. It was more straightforward. It was also a shorter segment than we'd anticipated, and part of it was consumed by the host's tribute to Tim Russert. Yes, we had to follow a eulogy. Could be why there was a decided lack of big yuks.

Paddy managed to squeeze in a plug for The Real McCain by Cliff Schecter available on Amazon and at a book store near you! I managed to say that the people in the White House are stupid, which the host wouldn't touch. I'm not sure why that was.

But that's all fine and dandy, because Paddy and I are now the official Political Twins of Radio. We shall forever rule the airwaves. Paddy's Indiana take, and my dementia seemed to work well, and we were both told that we'd be asked back. We'll see....
