Gramm-pa McCain better scrap Manufactured Momentum Plan, version 1.0. Maybe he can come up with an economic plan instead. He did? Then he didn't? Never mind. Someone else did.Voter preferences in the presidential race continue to be generally auspicious for Barack Obama's election prospects only three weeks ahead of the eve of Election Day. Obama leads McCain by 10 percentage points, 51% to 41%, among all registered voters, according to Gallup Poll Daily tracking from Oct. 10-12.
The percentage of registered voters favoring Obama has been 50%, 51%, or 52% in each Gallup Poll Daily tracking report since Oct. 4. Support for McCain has been a steady 41% to 43% across the same time period. Thus, although the gap between the two candidates has varied from seven to 11 points in recent days, voter preferences have, in fact, been quite stable. Glad to see the 10 point spread back.
This shit is so over, it's not even funny.
Actually, it is funny. McCain is getting trounced!
NOAH the pundits will never use the words trounced not when Obama is the one doing the trouncing - I can just see John King on election night trying to tell us on his magic map why President Elect Obama did not win certain demographics, and why he did not win by a bigger margin... somehow his win will be deflated by the pundits!
Ellen, so true. You know, how many times will we hear that Obama failed to win over white males, and thus--despite his 375 electoral votes and 8 point victory--failed to really connect with the average voter?
Way off topic & something that's so, so funny: Levi Johnston's (Bristol's baby daddy) interview with the AP: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/oct/13/johnston-speaks-on-bristol-palin-obama-and-baby/
Not sure if it was covered here before. But damn it, it's a good time. Must read the last three paragraphs. Must.
Now, time for a happy dannce! How 'bout them emotions today? Whew. I'm exhausted already and the day is still young...
You Betchya We Can!
It's best for Obama not to flaunt the lead or else he'll be accused of being "uppity." But he should now be comfortable that this is not going to be close. McCain is talking now and he's trying to come across as being large and in charge. On the heels of Obama's economic stategy which he just released, McCain is just a dottering old fool. D.
It's so amazing how Obama has been so focused and steady throughout this economic crisis. McCain has been scary in his erratic behavior -- you really feel like he doesn't have any idea what to do.
It's starkly obvious to me, I hope it is to others.
as someone who began volunteering for the Obama campaign the day he announced he was running back in February 2007, these days i'm overwhelmed to see all that work, all those doors knocked, phone calls made, money donated, meetings attended, volunteers recruited, etc. finally actually having a result in a national election...it's really quite incredible! in the beginning, everyone thought Hillary had the nomination and laughed in my face when i talked about Obama becoming president. Now, a year and a half later, we have accomplished what so few thought possible back then..
as a mom of 4 in seattle, i left my family and job behind back in March to travel to the battleground state of Ohio to canvass for 4 days straight and it was one of the best experiences of my life. i have met the most amazing people and had some incredible experiences as part of this campaign. it is truly changed me as a person and i love that Obama has run a grassroots, bottom-up campaign in all 50 states! I know that I am part of a campaign that will forever change future presidential races...
Yeah, even when Obama wins, Mark Halperin will probably say that McCain "won the week"
Kudos, Kerry. People like you deserve all the credit for Obama's impending victory.
KERRY WE WILL FOREVER BE APPRECIATIVE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU
excellent, little math:
LV1 O:51 M:44
LV2 O:53 M:43
LV AVG: O:52 M: 43.5 (+8.5) +2.5 since yesterday!
I'm happy to see Gallup finally including LV and not just RV.
sorry for the dp, but I just wanted to say thank you for your sacrifice and hardwork to Kerry and all the 1000s of Americans like herself who own this campaign and worked to bring our country into the progressive 21st CE.
Kerry, I hear ya! The hard work seems to be paying off right now. I was an early volunteer during the primaries in SC, GA & NC...I remember my feet being so sore from pounding the pavement that I would just sit on the side of the tub in my hotel room and soak them for at least 2 hours every night. We've come a long way and it's been a horribly wonderful journey at times...if that makes any sense.
Thank you for your help. I see that GA just flipped back to pink, SC to solid red, and NC a toss up...more work.
McCains comments: " We got them right where we want them."
It sounds like some twisted episode of "Get Smart".
Agent 99, we got them right where we want them.
Had to laugh.
So, McCain wants Obama to have a 10pt. national lead right now? Okay...I can roll with that.
I was reading at 538.com that McCain needs momentum to roll his new plan out.John, here is your momentum.
