Democrat Barack Obama, showing some concern about his Republican rival’s constant anti-tax criticisms of him, switched from increasingly detailed defense to aggressive offense today in Downtown Indianapolis, saying John McCain’s approach to taxes is nothing more than “putting corporations ahead of workers.”
Looking out at a sea of 35,000 people who crammed the American Legion Mall on a chilly fall day, Obama noted the blue-collar and manufacturing workers in the audience who waited hours to see him but face disappearing jobs in this GOP state that is heavily rural and also dependent on a Rust Belt economy.
