GOP idea of "fun"

Playing with thousands upon thousands of lives is "fun" to these mouth-breathers.

I wonder if a cancer-riddled child whose parents can't afford to take her to a doctor, let alone a hospital, thinks it's "fun".

How about that heart attack victim? Fun?

Or a stroke patient. Or a fifty-year-old who has no idea he is diabetic, and won't until he goes into a coma. Fun stuff.

Let's not forget the dental patients who haven't visited a dentist for a decade, and those fun-loving imps who are being silently killed by high blood pressure.

What a freakin' blast:

By now you've heard about Doctor Senator Coburn's prayer for "someone" to miss the health care vote, the implication being his wish for the ailing Senator Byrd to be, um, "unable" to make it:

United States Senator Tom Coburn asked people to pray for a Senator to miss the health care reform bill vote. Those prayers were fulfilled because United States Senator James Inhofe missed the vote.

Reporter to Sen. Jim Inhofe: "You're ridiculous."

Copenhagen antics with none other than Jim the Dim Inhofe. You remember who he is, right?

But Inhofe’s aides eventually rustled up a group of reporters, and the Oklahoman — wearing black snakeskin cowboy boots — held forth from the top of a flight of stairs in the conference media center.

I love that sentence: Snakeskin Cowboy Boots Guy "holds forth". For some reason I found the juxtaposition of those words amusing.

A reporter asked: “If there’s a hoax, then who’s putting on this hoax, and what’s the motive?”

“It started in the United Nations,” Inhofe said, “and the ones in the United States who really grab ahold of this is the Hollywood elite.”

One reporter asked Inhofe if he was referring to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Another reporter — this one from Der Spiegel — told the senator: “You’re ridiculous.”

Ding! Give that reporter a cee-gar!

There is a prologue:

After Inhofe left, some reporters were still a bit confused about what had happened and who he was.

“His name is Inhofe,” a German journalist told a Japanese reporter, “but I don’t know if it’s one or two f’s.”

Join the club. Many of us are often confused about what has just happened after he has spoken.

The difference here is, these journalists weren't afraid to speak up and say something about him and to him.

Our News Dee Jays either ignore this kind of idiocy or encourage and perpetuate it.

Jim Inhofe Rips Obama

Anyone else wonder how the President can meet with these mental midgets without knocking the crap out of them? Guess that's why I could never be President... at least one of the reasons.

At a town hall meeting, Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) claimed President Obama "is disarming the military, destroying everything good about America and determined to turn foreign terrorists loose on U.S. soil," Tulsa World reports.

Said Inhofe: "I never dreamed I would see an administration try to disavow all the things that have made this country different from all others. I have never seen so many things happening at one time so disheartening to America."

"Those of you who think like I do hope this country can hang on another 16 months."

::Cough!:: Oh wow, excuse me, I live in the L.A. area and the pollution here is just ::wheeze!:: awful! There are so many cars out here ::hack!:: and I've always been told that they are a major source of my ::wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeze!:: pulmonary issues, but Inhofe says otherwise:

This afternoon, Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) took to the Senate floor and basically made a pitch for the oil and gas industry. He said that to ensure “energy security,” the United States should increasingly “extract our own resources.” According to Inhofe, this solution would not only achieve energy independence, but it would also be pollution-free [...]

Inhofe is an anti-science senator who thinks that global warming is “the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.”

Gee, I'm not a smoker, so that's sure not the cause of my ::hack! wheeze!:: lung irritation.

Hmmm. I guess I need to do more research. It's embarrassing how wrong I've been all these ::cough! hack! wheeze!:: years.

So I asked Inhofe spokesman Jared Young whether the Senator questions Obama’s legitimacy as President. He answered:

On this same show, Inhofe also made remarks about Obama's "obsession" with transferring Gitmo detainees:

Appearing on Janet Parshall’s radio show yesterday, Inhofe argued that the defeat of President Clinton’s health care reform “started the demise of Bill Clinton that led to the 1994 Republican takeover of the House and the Senate.” He then added that he is now “tracking the demise” of Obama’s health care plans and it is making him “optimistic”.

Inhofe also appeared on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show yesterday, where he was asked if Republicans had the votes “to block health care, the radical stuff in the Senate.” Inhofe said he thought they did [...]

Later in his interview with Hewitt, Inhofe also revealed why the GOP strategy to “slow down” health care is really an effort to “kill it.” “If he is unsuccessful — which I anticipate and will predict he is — on getting a vote prior to the August recess, then I would say there’s no way in the world they’re going to get this done this year,” said Inhofe. “And next year would not be any easier.”

See how much they care about America?

They simply can't afford to let Obama have a win this big, because then the tables would be turned, and the president would be the one who "killed" the GOP. The contrast in motives, however, is pretty remarkable.

Inhofe: The ObamAdministration "is obsessed"! And did you know there hasn't been so much as one "documented" instance of torture at Gitmo?

Know why, Jim? Because the evidence has been destroyed or otherwise kept from view.

Who cares about reality anyway, right? All this must be true because Jim Inhofe says it's true.

Based on recent events, I can say without hesitation that the Rushpublic party is off its collective rocker:



Do these skittery little alarmists honestly think that Gitmo transferees are going to get loose, beeline directly into the nearest backyard, and kill our children?

They trust our supermax prisons to hold other terrorists and murderers, the "worst of the worst", but somehow the New Guys on the Cell Block will discover the Secret Magic Key, tiptoe past security, and stroll to freedom.

Way to have faith in America's prison system, guys.

In a speech for the Heartland Institute yesterday, Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) said that the Senate could just “stall” any EPA regulation:

INHOFE: Don’t be distressed when you see the House passes some kind of cap-and-trade bill. And you know it could be worse and she could still pass it, so it’ll pass there. The EPA has threatened to regulate this through the Clean Air Act. That isn’t going to work in my opinion because we can stall that until we get a new president – that shouldn’t be a problem.

[I]nhofe is an avowed opponent of EPA regulation. On the day that the EPA administrator Lisa Jackson announced the endangerment finding, Inhofe released a statement arguing that “Congress should pass a simple, narrowly-targeted bill that stops EPA in its tracks.”

I hope he uses sunscreen.
