I'm sorry to do this to you, but get ready:
Now imagine if Obama supporters posted the equivalent of this about IWRC* Palin or Gramm-pa McCain.
This is what it's come to. The Republican party has self-destructed. It's devolved into a vast stinking garbage heap of malignant bigotry.
Hypocritical Republican pretense of patriotism and flag pins is now reduced to nothing more than fomenting hate and violence. It's despicable, outrageous, and... well, if I had a functioning brain today, I'd come up with something more coherent. At this point, any other words that comes to mind are unprintable.

It seems like the pushback over this disturbing image made the blogger responsible for nonsense to delete his post....but is he remorseful?
Well, it is gone. I'll tell you why. The point of the posting was being lost and the post itself was becoming the story. Which I never wanted to happen. The point is, I made the far left have a knee jerk reaction. I also gave them something to talk about.
Again, as I stated in the actual posting itself, I never, ever wished any harm come to Obama, at all. I was simply making a point and doing exactly what the left is doing to Sarah Palin.
This is what we're doing to IWRC? Really? Has anyone seen any Democrat anywhere post any graphic images encouraging her murder?

No words. I'm sickened. Truly, truly sickened.
i worry about the safety of our guy Obama.
I don't know, this guy sort of has a point: questioning someone's experience and capabilities to lead due to being demonstrably unqualified is somewhat akin to advocating another's death. Actually quite similar now that I think about it. Almost the same thing, really.
Generally, I'd note that every president/candidate is a huge fucking target, but that they have some of the most capable people in the world protecting them from harm. Unfortunately, the most difficult people to stop are the alienated, crazy loners. These are exactly the people that McCain & Palin are whipping in to a frenzy.
Where did this bullshit come from? I can't think of anything truly fitting to say right now either, but it will slowly come to me...
The sadness for me is that there Republicans condone this type of hatred... We're not a two party system anymore, unless the Hate Party is considered party number two. Hate = desperation = Republicans. For those few who actually hold the values of the GOP in high standing, this is the time to say enough. But don't look for many to do that. Hate is so much easier. And casts a larger net. D.
I'm sorry if I wrecked your day, Laffy. I realize that I didn't warn you about what the link led to and I should have. :(
I'm sooo fucking disgusted by this.
You didn't wreck it, Chrissers. You could never do that. What wrecked it was no sleep. This managed to wake me up a little, though.
A couple of thoughts: This person may NOT have been advocating that any violence be done to Senator Obama, but that's not even the most important point, in my eyes.
The noose is a symbol used to intimidate and instill fear in African Americans. In short, it's used to TERRORIZE them.
So, congrats to the poor excuse of a human being who did this. He/She is nothing more than a domestic terrorist.
But it does say that the noose is the, "Fucking Solution"...$&@*(&$(@&
Secret Service will be all over this person to investigate this incident, right? John McCain will come out and denounce this sort of behavior, right? Or is this what he was hoping would happen? Unless that fucking coward, McCain, comes out and tells the hate-filled lunatics that he doesn't want their low life votes either, in my mind, McCain is no better than the person who did this...
That is such a horrible image. Can you take it down PLEASE. You can't know how much the sight of this hurts. I will share something personal with you.
When I was a child, back in the early 60's; the town I lived in was small but it boasted a movie theater.Blacks were allowed to sit in the balcony area only. We entered the balcony via a staircase from the street.
One time the owner showed a controversial film about mixed race marriage. I forget the name of it. It was not Guess Who's Coming To Dinner. At least I don't remember that being the one, I was small. The KKK had started the rumor that no n***ers better show up to see that movie. Of course some blacks showed up to the movie theater and the owner was a decent man who thought it was ok for them to see the movie if they wanted to. Well midway the movie the KKK raided the theater. They terrorized our neighborhood. They lit one of their freaking crosses down the street from my house at our little Baptist Church...(I am gratful they did not raze it to the ground.)They caused the owner to close the movie theater forever.
Something died in our town that night. For those of us who witnessed it, it is still a horrid, memory that is still crystal clear and fresh like yesterday.
I wanted to share this with you all because there seems to be this same mentality emerging in America once again. I feel telling the stories of that time by those who witnessed it and are still living will help prevent us from allowing it to happen in America again. There was an American holocaust also. Let's not forget that one either.
Jason Linkins, in his Sunday talk show recap, posted an email he received from a commenter. It's so ... I don't know the right word ... rational, yet tugging on emotions in addressing the racism being stirred up by the McCain campaign. Really well written.

The email is at the bottom of the blog entry.
Oh, Lucy. What an awful time that was. :(
Go read the email at the link I just posted - your story fits in with the author's. That is NOT a country I want to become again - never EVER again.
lucy:
thanks for sharing your story. and thanks for reminding everyone that there was an american holocaust.
between the horrors inflicted on the native people and the african slaves, we've had more than one holocaust here.
but i hope that Gotta keeps the image up. it's horrid and offensive and painful. and we all need to see and know what we are up against. the terrible hate of the bigots lives in the dark places. it moves quietly at first, gaining momentum. hiding behind sheets and masks.
the best thing we can do is shine light into those dark places and show the world who these people are.
painful? yes.
but necessary.
when they can hide they win.
bucky
Bucky you must be right. I just hate seeing it.It jolts my sensibilities, but, I can be tougher. I was once. I just wish America could move past this. It is a shame that in the 21st century we still have who thinks this kind of thing is all right.
Chris, I will read the email link now. Thanks.
Lucy:
I appreciate and share your feelings. It is a shame that we are still dealing with this sort of racism. But it exists. I should know. Most of my extended family are hateful bigots.
But I've go so much hope for the new generation of kids. My son is 9 now and his ideas about race are so very different from generations past. Even from kids a few years ago.
And I know that Obama is having a very positive impact. Certainly for my son who like Obama is of mixed race. (He likes Obama because, "he's tan like me.") But also for my son's friends of all races. I hear them actually talking about the presidential race and about Obama and about having a president who isn't white. They all think it's pretty cool. You can particularly see the joy on the faces of the kids who aren't white, whatever their racial background. They get it. They know.
So I have some hope that we may one day soon have a country where the haters and the bigots will be seen for the small horrid people they are and shunned by everyone.
As I write this there are tears in my eyes.
I pray America/Our World is going to confront and grow from this hatred.
I grew up in Northern Ireland....I know hatred from others, simply for who you are.
It fills you with paralyzing terror.
Lucy your story was chilling and shocking.
You say that you fear "this same mentality emerging in America once again"
Sadly I feel that it's just being tapped into again. It hasn't gone away 'cos it has never been confronted and healed.
(BTW i've just seen your latest post and it is wonderful.)
It is revolting to see this vile poster.
There is a TON of psychic illness to be confronted and healed.
But this confronting and healing must be done.
But in a mindful way.
Mindful of the humanity of the other.
It's the only way.
Barack Obama and his extraordinary personal story can and must give us ALL the hope and the courage to work through this.
I know some of you will see me as being way, way out in left field, but these people who are soo vile, are also DEEPLY wounded; we must help show a better way by our example.
We really must.
I know it's tough; very tough.
A shift happening around us and we must act with care.
YES WE CAN.
We can do it Wotching! Yes we can!
Lucy - right on girlfriend.
;-)
