Let's hope these huge numbers continue to work against Gramm-pa's dwindling campaign, what with IWRC* Palin's embarrassing crib-notey performance (emphasis on "performance") and all:

Nielsen found the overall rating for last night's vice presidential debate was 45.0 -- much higher than the first presidential debate, which had a rating of 31.6

National ratings will be available later today, and if these numbers hold up, this could be one of the most-watched debates ever.
