MSNBC changes line-up

By GottaLaff

http://www.mrc.org/biasalert/uploads/2009-10-20-MSNBC-Shuster%5B1%5D.jpg

Shuster has his own spots, as does Tamron Hall:

TVNewser has learned that effective Monday, David Shuster will anchor at 10amET and 3pmET, Tamron Hall will anchor at 11amET and 2pmET and Contessa Brewer will anchor at 12N.

Chuck Todd and Savannah Guthrie begin the dayside hours at 9am ET. Andrea Mitchell remains at 1pmET and Dylan Ratigan at 4pm.

Norah O'Donnell and John Harwood have been canceled, along with CNBC's Melissa Francis

And so it goes...

Palin: "I'm ...willing to sacrifice"

By GottaLaff

Norah O'Donnell just tweeted this:

Here's a sacrifice Barbie McLipSchmutz can make: Leave all public discussion and opining about this gr8 nation to professionals who have the good sense to grasp-- without a history lesson-- that Iraq didn't attack us on 9/11 and the reasons behind the existence of a North and South Korea.

And how to pronounce "nuclear".

And speak intelligibly.

Carlos Watson Gets 11am Slot on MSNBC

Very glad to see, even if Carlos went to Ransom (ptooey). They don't mention, but I'm pretty sure Shuster is sticking around in the 3p-5p slot, with Tamryn Hall.

First on TVNewser: Carlos Watson, who officially joined MSNBC as a dayside anchor in March, will be the host of the 11amET hour. His first day was today.

The move continues to fill in the gaps on MSNBC dayside ahead of the June 29 move to HD and addition of programs at 9amET and NoonET.

Initially, it was reported David Gregory would anchor one day a week at 11amET. Norah O'Donnell was also slated for a morning hour. She told TVNewser in April: "I look forward to my new hour in the mornings!"

Now it appears the morning line-up is set, with Dylan Ratigan anchoring 9-11am and Dr. Nancy Snyderman at Noon.

Hmmm, looking over the line up, I have to admit this is a pretty young leaning bunch with Snyderman by far the oldest at 59. Very good. Added- Oops, almost forgot about Andrea "Can't Read A Teleprompter After 30 Years" Mitchell who is well into her 80's.

Nora O'Donnell, Tammy Haddad, Ana Marie Cox Being Considered For DC's Real Housewives?

Not-so desperate housewives:

...Patrick Gavin writes about Bravo TV's search for The Real Housewives of Washington, DC. Among the names being tossed around, MSNBC's Norah O'Donnell, Newsweek/Haddad Media's Tammy Haddad and Air America's Ana Marie Cox. O'Donnell's casting is probably a non-starter since she already works for the company that produces the show.
As if they have time for this. But you know we'd all watch...

Unexpected Quote-O'-The-Day: Norah O'Donnell edition

By GottaLaff

Just now on MSNBC, Norah O'Donnell (practically screaming) to Republican strategist about the GOP response to the stimulus package:
"Is anyone a thinker in the Republican party??!"
Someone pick me up off of the floor.

Shallow Thoughts: Norah O'Donnell/sexism edition

By GottaLaff

Today's Extended Shallow Thought:
Noron reflexively pounced all over the latest nominee (Nancy Killefer) confirmation controversy, pushing as hard as she could to make it a sexism, rather than a tax/vetting, issue. "Why was the woman the only one to withdraw, hmmmm? Why not the two men?" [I added the "hmmm"]

Well, Noron, maybe because they're "heavyweights" with a lot of bipartisan Senate support who have been described as "indispensable". Maybe sexism has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Here's a question: "Why is a news anchorette posing speculative, baseless questions intended to create problems?" Maybe if O'Donnell did her job-- reporting the news-- viewers could get some, you know, objective reporting upon which to come to their own conclusions... as Chuck Schumer pointed out in a subsequent interview in which he swatted down rumors and presented actual facts regarding the stimulus bill.
That was today's Shallow Thought. Thank you for wading in.

VIDEO: Norah O’Donnell calls out Republican on bogus economic talking points

By GottaLaff

Where did the real Norah O'Donnell go?

Today on MSNBC, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) attempted to argue that the House economic recovery package needs more corporate tax cuts instead of infrastructure spending, arguing that it wouldn’t help create any jobs. McCarthy, however, was swiftly knocked down by host Norah O’Donnell.
Suh-napity doo-dah.

Obama v. The Sag-inator

By GottaLaff

I wasn't going to post this, but Norah O'Donnell just broke into a huge, inappropriately loud cackle over Arnold Schwarzenegger's latest "quip", and it was enough to push me over the edge.

I opened my L.A. Times to read about his little dig during an apparently underattended rally in Columbus, Ohio yesterday, so I was all ready to pounce. TomVA over at DKos gave me all the ammo I needed:

As if this schtick still had a ounce of shelf life, Schwarzenegger led off by poking fun at an adversary's physical build aka the "girlie man".

"He needs to do something about those skinny legs, make him do some squats," Schwarzenegger said. "And give him some bicep curls to beef up those scrawny little arms."

A picture is worth a thousand snarks:

Setting aside the fact that Schwarzenegger's biceps and legs were never exactly home-grown, should Barack feel self-conscious about his physique? Lets take a look:

exhibit #2: on the beach

Hmmm...I don't know, lets look at some other comparisons

exhibit #3: casual in t-shirt

What were you saying again, Sag-inator?

Apologies to anyone who was about to eat.
