Other than Carly Fiorina's evil Demon Sheep video that was so bad, so laughable, that it demanded its own DSCC parody; other than being a flop at HP; other than being fired from HP; other than being one of the worst CEOs in America; other than being part of the elite wealthy bonus-laden golden parachuted crowd; other than having been a John McCain (he lost, remember?) surrogate... if all that's not enough...

Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican nominee for vice president, is making her presence felt in California’s Senate race by backing Carly Fiorina, the former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard. [...]

In a statement, Ms. Palin called Ms. Fiorina “the commonsense conservative that California needs.”

“She’s not a career politician,” added Ms. Palin, the former Alaska governor. “She’s a businesswoman who has run a major corporation. She knows how to really incentivize job creation.”

Endorsa McBadChoice forgot three words: "She's a businesswoman who has failed at running a major corporation."

Endorsa's track record of getting people elected isn't the best. Carly's doomed.

Added bonus! When Carly Van MoneyBags was asked directly whether she thought Endorsa had the experience to run a big company like Hewlett-Packard, she said no. Perhaps Endorsa took that as a compliment.

Double added bonus! McBadChoice refused to endorse fellow Tea Party fan Chuck DeVore.

When will the Tea Baggers figure out that they've been exploited and will be tossed aside like used... tea bags?

A new M4 Strategies poll in California finds Tom Campbell (R) has opened up a big lead over both Carly Fiorina (R) and Chuck DeVore (R) in the Republican U.S. Senate race.

Campbell leads with 32% of the vote, followed by Fiorina at 18.5% and DeVore at 11%.

In just 24 hours, the three-way Republican Senate primary in California has descended into a squabble over bloated budgets, "demon sheep" and now ... mutton.

Ba-a-a-ad choice of ads, eh Carly?

The video instantly became the subject of Internet mockery when it was posted on Wednesday.

"Carly Fiorina's campaign is in full Mutton Meltdown mode, with an increasingly bizarre fixation on farm animals," Campbell spokesman Jamie Fisfis said in a statement Thursday. "She's admitted missing a decade's worth of opportunities to vote for budget reform, but instead of offering solutions, all she has for voters are dogs, cats and demon-sheep."

Ouch!

The Sacramento Bee reports that Hewlett-Packard's political action committee has given the maximum amount to Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) but hasn't contributed toward its own former CEO, Carly Fiorina (R), campaign finance reports show.

That's gotta hurt.

Rushing to work, so a few excerpts and this link to a good piece on the joke that is Carly Fiorina:

Carly Fiorina’s candidacy for the U.S. Senate, which she formally announced Wednesday, will put this notion to the test. Specifically: Can someone who has spent the last few years running from her checkered record as a big-business CEO, shown so little interest in politics that she consistently failed to vote and has at best a tenuous grasp of such major issues as healthcare reform prevail in a statewide California election? [...]

She reviewed her bona-fides as a glamorous business leader, reminding the audience of her tenure as chairwoman and chief executive of Hewlett-Packard Co. starting in 1999, without making too much of the fact that she was fired by the Hewlett-Packard board in 2005, or that its stock declined by 60% on her watch. She mentioned that HP is now one of the country's leading high-tech companies, but managed not to give too much credit to her successor, Mark Hurd, who led the turnaround.

But she may not have succeeded in settling the riddle of whether she's really serious about politics. Already she has been embarrassed by the disclosure that she failed to vote in 75% of California state elections since 2000, including all gubernatorial elections and presidential primaries.

In her Register op-ed, Fiorina explained that this was because "I felt disconnected from the decisions made in Washington and, to be honest, really didn't think my vote mattered because I didn't have a direct line of sight from my vote to a result."

Yet during her reign at Hewlett-Packard, according to public records, her corporation spent $4.7 million to lobby Congress and donated more than $390,000 to political candidates through its political action committee. Fiorina and her husband, Frank, a former AT&T executive, have made more than $100,000 in political donations personally since 2000.

That suggests not that Fiorina "felt disconnected" from what was going on in Washington, but rather that she understood all too well that in politics, money talks. Why bother to vote when you can get what you need with greenbacks? [...]

It's evident from her campaign material that she plans to use her experience as a cancer survivor -- she says she successfully completed chemo and radiation treatment for breast cancer -- as an entree into the healthcare reform debate. Yet her approach to this issue so far is less than compelling. [...]

Cross-state health insurance wouldn't affect Fiorina, because as she acknowledged Wednesday, she gets her medical care through her husband's AT&T retirement plan.

Therefore it's my duty to explain to her what would happen if she were an average person who lost that AT&T coverage and had to replace it in an individual market where the insurers could sell it to her on their own terms, subject to the rules of the most lenient and consumer-unfriendly states: As a cancer survivor, she'd be uninsurable.

Fiorina doesn't really have to worry about that, because her $40-million walkaway package from Hewlett-Packard enables her to be her own health insurer, if need be. [...]

So here's the tally thus far on Fiorina the candidate: Business celebrity with an equivocal record, cancer survivor with a secure employer-sponsored health plan, "problem-solving" candidate spouting ancient Republican nostrums. I can hardly contain my excitement.

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina (R), who is ramping up challenge to Sen. Barbra Boxer (D-CA) in 2010, oversaw a company that sold hundreds of millions of dollars worth of products to Iran, sidestepping a U.S. ban on trade with the country, reports the San Jose Mercury News.

Fiorina declined an interview request.

Yeah, well, oops there, huh Carly? I'd decline an interview too, had I broken a U.S. ban, especially that one.

A Field Poll conducted in late February showed Boxer with a large lead, 55% to 25%, over Fiorina in a potential matchup.

Carly Fiorina: Palin not qualified to run her old company

They're all over the place now, stumbling and bumbling for answers. This is pathetic:

Carly Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO turned John McCain Victory chair, said Tuesday that Sarah Palin isn’t qualified to run her old company.

Appearing on a KTRS Radio show in St. Louis, Fiorina was asked by the host, “Do you think she has the experience to run a major company like Hewlett Packard?”

“No, I don’t,” Fiorina answered. “But that’s not what she’s running for. Running a corporation is a different set of things."

Wasn't being a CEO a qualifier for Bush? And Cheney? Weren't they going to be the grown-ups who could organize that mess of a Clinton government and get things in order? I thought so. Good job, guys.

Sarah Louise Palin is a gimmick. John Sidney McCain is completely out of touch and relies on Palin and Cindy to prop him up. They're Republicans. Now let's move beyond what was and elect what can be.

Re "An ousted pioneer explores a new trail," Aug. 6

The Times' article highlights yet another reason for Americans to vote against John McCain. If he gets his economic advice from people like Phil "Americans are whiners" Gramm, and Carly "there is no job that is America's God-given right anymore" Fiorina, then corporate elitism will be alive and well in a McCain administration.

If she's a part of that administration, do you think she'll outsource overseas CIA jobs? Maybe she'll put Blackwater in charge of privatizing the military, and then outsource the war too. Clearly, McCain has no idea what Americans need in terms of domestic policy. I've heard that you can judge a man by the company he keeps.

That last part draws the obvious parallel to Bush/Cheney/Rove/Wolfowitz/Rumsfeld/Yoo/Gonzales/Mukasey/Addington/ad nauseam.

With friends like Phil "Doesn't Speak for Me" Gramm, J Sid needs no enemies. I've been meaning to ask: Since when does your economic advisor not speak for you? Oh yeah. Since they publicly reveal how inept and asinine they are. As Political Radar says, Trusted Friend Gramm is fading to black:

From NBC's Kelly O'Donnell: Republican sources say they do not expect the McCain campaign to "strip" Phil Gramm of his "volunteer designation" as a co chair with the McCain campaign. At least not now.

Oh, so he's still around. He just won't be visible. Or audible. He'll be our very own little "mental recession".

However, other surrogates on economic policy will be "driving the policy" for McCain, sources said. Already prominent business executives Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina along with former Congressional Budget Office head Doug Holz-Eakin will speak on these issues and deal with reporters.

Gnarly Carly is another perfect choice to advise McNoExpert on these things.

I often keep my trusted friends under wraps. It demonstrates the confidence and pride I have in them. This helps to explain why McCain treated his first wife the way he did. Out of sight, out of mind.
