After a quiet New Years Eve, he's in for a bumpy rest-of-2009:
President-elect Barack Obama will ring in the New Year quietly at the rental home in Hawaii, according to transition spokesman Ben LaBolt. “The Obama family is staying in Kailua, celebrating with friends,” LaBolt said, referring to the part of the island of Oahu where the family has been staying for nearly two weeks.Starting 2009 with Obama in office is the best New Years kick-off we've had in nearly a decade. For that I am grateful.

I know I should feel something deep and intellectual about all the picks of Obama (shirtless -- YUM!) and with his kids (my god, they're adorable) but I'm loving all of them. beats the hell out of seeing the smirking chimp, valiumed wife and their vapid entitled, corn fed offspring.
I'm just not really up for any heavy news today, so it helps to have such "feel good" stuff like the lovely Obama family to, well, FEEL GOOD about. Thank'ee, GL!
