"Burris not acceptable"

By GottaLaff

Per MSNBC just now:

Chuck Todd is hearing that "Burris will not be acceptable". Roland Burris is Rod Blagojevich's choice to replace Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate. "Democratic sources on the Hill will not accept Burris".

The question is, do they have to seat him? Constitutionally, all the requirements are filled, says the MSNBC reporter.

Burris is 71, so nobody's sure if he'd try to run again after accepting this "placeholder spot".

Harry Reid will make a statement soon that this choice is unacceptable, says MSNBC. It's unclear what the objection is: Is it because it is Blago who is appointing him, or is it because Burris is the wrong guy?

At one point Burris and Blago were political allies, but it's not clear what their relationship is now.
