Gov Pawlenty (R-MN) hasn't responded to census

Yeah, the great fiscal conservative is making it so the Federal government now has to pay to send someone out to count him. Hope someone notes this for the next time he bitches about spending. Asshat.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty says he hasn't filled out his census form, which was due more than a week ago.
Pawlenty made the comment on his weekly radio show on WCCO Radio on Friday.
(center)
Pawlenty says, "I'm going to fill it out in a timely manner."
April 1 was the deadline for completing and mailing census forms. Census workers are set to visit homes that don't respond. Federal law requires people to participate in the census.

Video- Doocy: Are DOJ attorneys who represented Gitmo detainees "sympathetic to the Al Qaeda cause?"
I can finally understand why this show is so damn popular up here. What Doochey says is hands down one of the stupidest things ever, not to mention that by their own standards he is criticizing one of those damn government arms that the wingers usually revere. Or at least they did revere the Justice Department until those damn socialists got ahold of it. Asshat. Via Media Matters.

Ahnold The Anti-Unionator
By GottaLaff

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has put organized labor squarely in his cross-hairs in 2010, opening a fight that will largely determine the shape of his final year in office.Of course, that means that, by weakening organized labor, he would also be reducing their ability to buy elections, unlike Big Biz, Big Pharma, Big Oil, China Inc., Osama Bin Laden Inc., Inc. Inc....
Schwarzenegger's proposals would cut the size of the union workforce, reduce pay, shrink future pensions and roll back job protections won through collective bargaining.
Among the plans in the governor's budget: privatize prisons, which would strip members from the influential guards union; curtail seniority protections for teachers, a key union-won protection; and reduce the number of sick, disabled and elderly Californians cared for through the state's In-Home Supportive Services program -- almost all union jobs -- while cutting what their caregivers are paid. The Anti-Unionator: A man of the people.
Schwarzenegger also wants to permanently lower state workforce salaries by 5% without returning to the bargaining table with public-sector unions. And he would require state workers to chip 5% more into their retirement plans.

Said Ensign: "I fully plan on running for reelection. I'm going to work to earn their respect back."

Rumsfeld's Bible Briefings
By GottaLaff
A must-read GQ piece reveals never-before-seen cover sheets from former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's top-secret intelligence briefings, which feature Bible passages thematically selected to correspond with war events. Despite objections within the Pentagon to the cover sheets, these reports were distributed daily to a limited group, including the president.Who wants to throw Rummy into a not-so-padded cell at Gitmo? Hands? It's unanimous.
Frank Rich: "They are seriously creepy."
Other key tidbits from the piece:
Rumsfeld played a significant role in delaying parts of the administration's response to the Hurricane Katrina disaster areas.
Rumsfeld was among a group within the administration who successfully fought a recommendation to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA).
President Bush was hesitant and slow to act on the dismissal of Rumsfeld even when counseled to do so by his close advisers.

Tuh-Weet! Joe Scarborough v. TwitLibs edition
By GottaLaff
Joe Scarborough:
The point is that conservatives can't hate like the Left and get the same pass from the MSM. We have to be more strategic.Responses, from Cody_K, cindyscott54 , and Shoq:
Sorry you consider dialogue "whining." Read my past tweets. Right wing anger is also destructive. That is exactly my point.
The Enraged Left has been awakened! I'm turning off the computer and turning on the Arsenal match. Work thru your anger, guys. You won.
I love these responses from the Left. They confirm that the Left thinks they are superior and all who oppose them are stupid. Funny stuff.
And yes. The far right is equally destructive and close-minded. Not a lot of grown ups out there anymore.
How funny that the open-minded left are the angriest and most intolerant of opposing views. Just read today's tweets here.
There are angry, arrogant types on both sides. The Left needs to challenge their haters just as I challenge haters on the right.
Don't talk to me about blind hatred Joe. I'm a lesbian in Florida. I feel it EVERYDAY.
You don't know what blind hatred is till you are a minority surrounded by armed right wingers.
You think we should maybe be a little more open to the idea of torture, Joe? A little more "tolerant"?
You're forever going to frame the torture debate as a left-right thing.... and not a right-wrong thing, huh.
Who challenged haters on the right, exactly? When did you do a show about Phelps, Haggee, Savage, or Crowley?
@joenbc's entire style of "debate" is to make judgmental assertions, accuse the left of being churlish, and rush off to his next venue.

Pence, GOP to grill Clinton on Chavez 'aftermath'

You can watch the live stream here already in session. I think Mike Pence is one of the more dangerous asshats out there, but he may have met his match with Secretary Clinton.
GOP Conference Chairman Rep. Mike Pence (Ind.) on Tuesday afternoon called the photographs taken of President Obama and Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez shaking hands at the Summit of the Americas "an enormous propaganda victory for the socialist dictator."**Um, wouldn't this be editorializing in a straight reporting article Hill journalists?
Pence indicated that House Republicans intended to confront Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about Obama and Chavez meeting and mugging** for the cameras when she appears before the Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday morning.
He said that rank-and-file members have been discussing the "aftermath" of last week's summit where Obama and Chavez were photographed in "what appeared to be the friendly dialogue."

VIDEO: Guest Passes Out Live During Glenn Beck
By GottaLaff
Via Mediabistro:
Coming back at 5:30pmET, Beck said, "Everybody thought it was part of the show because this show, you never know what to expect," and, "he apologizes, and I'm like 'are you kidding me, the ratings will be through the roof!'"Way to prioritize, Glenn. I'm sure Buckner appreciated your self-servitude no end. Too bad he didn't die, huh? Your ratings would have been over the moon:
David Buckner, a frequent guest of Glenn's talking all things economic, was on today to talk about municipal bonds and other investments. In the middle of the presentation on the big screen, David Buckner obviously sways, appears to lose balance, and says he's about to pass out. Glenn helps him to the floor. Now, I will admit, I thought it was schtick to drive home the point of the economics they were discussing, but when Beck came back from commercial, he was clearly shaken and said medical personnel were there to help. He said Buckner had been sick earlier, and apparently just passed out. It's official: Glenn Drek is even sickening his own guests.

Bill O'Reilly's writing Obama book

Holy crap, that's going to be a bold, fresh piece o'something, that's for sure.
Bill O'Reilly, currently on his "100 months at #1" media tour, told Cindy Adams that he has another book in the works.
"My next book, out the latter part of 2010, is on Obama," O'Reilly said. "He's becoming a historical figure not because he's black, but because his liberal agenda is taking the country in a direction we've never been before."

Fly fishers to Cheney: Go jump in a lake-- "It's as if the Holocaust museum held a dinner to honor [Nazi war criminal] Klaus Barbie."
By GottaLaff

When the American Museum of Fly Fishing hooked Dick Cheney for a fund-raising dinner, critics howled that they should throw him back.
Cheney - whose Secret Service code name was "Angler" - spearheaded energy policy at the White House and bears blame, detractors say, for the Bush administration's poor environmental record.
"The entire fly fishing community is appalled and disgusted," said Ted Williams, conservation editor at Fly Rod & Reel magazine.
So is the entire nation, but I digress.
"We all need money, but to apply green lipstick to this Darth Vader of fish and wildlife is whoring - it's grotesque," Williams said. "It's as if the Holocaust museum held a dinner to honor [Nazi war criminal] Klaus Barbie."
Whoring, huh? Seems ol' Dickface has waded in to familiar waters. (pun intended) I was going to include a quip about a "wet fly", but thought the better of it.
Steve Wright, a former commissioner of the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department, blasted the invitation, calling Cheney "one of the great enemies of healthy fish and wildlife conservation in the U.S. over the last eight years."
Wright could have easily left out the words "of healthy fish and wildlife conservation" and still remained accurate.
Cathi Comar, executive director of the Vermont-based museum, said some of the critics "sent me nasty e-mails, calling me names, pretty inappropriate names, I have to say."
One board member also resigned in protest.
The former Veep gets invited to a fundraiser and members are so aghast, so furious, that they compare him to a Nazi, and one even resigns. Wowzers. Cheney better keep an eye on his fly rod.
Still, Comar said, the museum's board supports the invitation for the fall dinner."Why?" you might be asking. "Why would The Big Dick still be invited?" Because he's "one of the most enthusiastic fly fishermen in the country." Still, if the Nation of Dick is smart, he'll watch his anal fin.
VIDEO: Palin filmmaker John Ziegler's meltdown: "You are a sackless lying piece of crap... you have no balls."
By GottaLaff
Every time this gasbag gets in front of a camera, he spews even more gag-inducing bibble-babble, if that's even possible. Here's a thought: Try helping yourself for a change, John. You might start by staying out of camera range for more than 24 hours, a bad habit you and your pal Limelight Palin share.
Wasn't proving himself to be the worst blind date ever on national television embarrassing enough for him? I guess not, considering the obliviously weak arguments in his own defense.
Speaking of oblivious, this wannabe Spielberg once again shows himself to have zero awareness of how video cameras actually record what you say and do, and how those recordings get recycled on the Internets for all to see.
Look! Here's one of those recordings now!
