The Pittsburgh-based Steelworkers union is endorsing Barack Obama for president — giving the White House hopeful a big potential boost in his bid to attract blue-collar support.

The 600,000-member strong union had previously backed former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, who endorsed Obama Wednesday.
