Via Mike Stark of StarkReports.com:
How do these people get elected, and re-elected?
Slavery, said Franks, "is a crushing mark on America's soul, yet today half of all black children are aborted. Half of all black children are aborted. Far more black children, far more of the African American community is being devastated by the policies of today than were being devastated by the policies of slavery."

Gotta love that spirit of bipartisanship and camaraderie. BTW, how do you crash something you were invited to?
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) told his colleagues on Tuesday that Republicans plan to attend the president’s high-profile healthcare summit this week in order to "crash the party."**In other words, you better give us what we want or we'll stamp our feet, pout and show up anyway.
According to a House GOP leadership aide familiar with the top-ranking Republican’s remarks at the weekly closed-door conference meeting, Boehner appealed to skeptical Republican lawmakers, saying, “We shouldn’t let the White House have a six-hour taxpayer-funded infomercial on ObamaCare. We need to show up. We need to crash the party.”
(snip)
Boehner explained that leaders are waiting for a response from White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel to a letter they sent earlier this month that asked a series of questions on the bipartisan summit**.
“It’s our intent to be there on Thursday. We’re waiting on a response and we’re hopeful that we’ll receive one soon," Boehner explained.

Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) "made no apologies for trying to stop President Obama's agenda in Congress, telling conservative activists he proudly wears the 'Party of No' label that Democrats have tried to pin on Republicans," CNN reports.
Said Pence: "Some folks like to call us the 'Party of No.' Well, I say 'No' is way underrated here in Washington, D.C. Sometimes 'No' is just what this town needs to hear."

Rod Jetton (R), the Missouri power broker who is accused of assault in a S&M encounter gone bad, apparently fought to ban "deviate sexual intercourse" in his state -- at least when it involved same sex couples, TPM reports.I wonder if his family wants to spend time with him.
Now, the Kansas City Star reports Jetton "will be leaving politics to deal with false allegations and spend time with his family," according to a statement issued by his lawyer.

Former Missouri House Speaker Rod Jetton (R) "was charged with felony assault that allegedly happened during an S&M session gone wrong," reports the Riverfront Times.I can only imagine what would have happened if it had gone right. No, on second thought...
Reports say Jetton told the woman to use the safe words "green balloons" to make him stop but she was apparently drugged, fading in-and-out of consciousness and unresponsive.Maybe if she'd chosen a better safe word? Like, oh I dunno, "Stop!!!!"
Rushpublic gone wrong. Very wrong. Welcome to the "Family Values" party.Jetton is accused of abusing the woman at her home in mid-November, a claim that Wilson first disputed Monday evening. A statement from Wilson reads: "Mr. Jetton was shocked and surprised when first advised of the allegation made against him. Now that a complaint is filed in court, Mr. Jetton's only comments are that he is not guilty, and will vigorously defend this allegation in court and not in the media."
Jetton is named in a complaint filed Monday in Scott County Circuit Court. In the complaint, prosecuting attorney Paul Boyd accuses Jetton of hitting the woman in the head and "choking her, resulting in unconsciousness and the loss of function of a part of her body." [...]
According to the affidavit, the woman remembers Jetton hitting her on the face very hard, then waking up and lying on the floor with Jetton choking her. She then recalled waking up and having sex with Jetton in the bedroom, then waking up the next morning with Jetton in her bed.

I snipped some out of the post. Please go read the rest. Then feel free to write to Senator WhoCares (No-AZ) and congratulate him for achieving a new level of wrong. If your unemployment ran out this week, you can thank Sen. Jon Kyl. Yes, the Republican whip objected to a quick vote that would have helped all those people. You can contact him here and thank him for his compassion:
Washington -- Key Senate Democrats tried unsuccessfully today to quickly pass legislation to give jobless workers in Michigan and other hard-hit states an additional 20 weeks of unemployment benefits.
That delays action on the high-stakes issue until at least next week. [...]
Today's failed effort to quickly pass a bill followed the unveiling of a compromise bill by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and key allies. The bill would give all states an extra 14 weeks of jobless benefits, plus an extra six weeks for states with unemployment rates of 8.5 percent or greater.
[...] Reid introduced the bill after reaching a deal with Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, who had balked at the House-passed bill, which only gives extra benefits to the hardest-hit states.
[...] But when Reid asked senators to quickly pass the bill under a speedy procedure, Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., objected. That's enough to prevent a quick vote.
[...] While objecting to quick passage, Kyl said he expects "at the appropriate time," Republicans will "be able to work out some kind of agreement."

Young America’s Foundation* spokesman Jason Mattera addressed a breakout session called “Turning The Tide In Your Generation.” In his comments, Mattera evoked the battle of David against Goliath as a metaphor for conservative college students who are ‘persecuted’ by the big bad liberals who control academia.” While discussing that theme, Mattera took the opportunity to argue for the supremacy of conservatism by saying, “our women are hot“:During the panel, Mattera took the David and Goliath metaphor another perverse step: If conservatives (David) smite liberals (Goliath), they will be rewarded with the hot conservative women, just like King Saul promised his daughter to the warrior who slew the evil giant. “You know his daughter must have been beautiful because there’s no guy whose gonna die for an ugly girl,” Mattera chortled. “Our women are hot. We have Michelle Malkin. Who does the left have, Rachel Maddow? Sorry, I prefer that my women not look like dudes.”
Who's gonna die for an ugly girl? Really, Jason? Is that what you want to put out there? That and slamming a brilliant gay woman? Or rather, gay women in general?

See how Rushpublic care about their constituents? Apparently, town hall meetings are for the sheeple, not the people:
For those not familiar with Rep. Broun, he has been a sore spot for Athens-area liberals since he took office in 2007. Many remember his proposal to make 2010 the “Year of the Bible,” his comparison last year of Obama to Hitler, and his insistance that global warming is a hoax.
My kinda guy.
But what could be the most talked about event at the town hall meeting is something that happened after Broun spoke, as he was talking with constituents who gathered around after the meeting. Ryan Lewis of Athens asked the Congressman, who is a doctor, directly what he was planning to do to make medical care affordable, telling him of his medical problems and how even with health insurance his provider won’t cover most of it. Broun’s response? He tells Lewis, “if you have a suggestion, send it to me” and walks away.
If that isn't being a caring, fair-minded representative, I don't know what is.

Jim Greer continues his fruitless quest to make himself sound intelligent. "CrazyTown" indeed:
On the day the text of President Obama's speech to schoolchildren is released without "lesson plans", Jim Greer again appears on CNN's "Campbell Brown" show and upholds what he said earlier in the day on "The Situation Room."A thing of beauty, David. Kudos.
This time, however, Jim had company, as sub host John Robetrs welcomed alternate views from John Avlon and David Sirota. Avlon suggested Greer was "trying to spin a victory and do a 'CYA' move." "It was an attempt to... turn the President into a fearful figure, and that's shameful," he said. And Sirota took Greer to task for criticizing Obama's speech, and said that "parents who tuned into this speech because of the hysteria by people like Jim greer, are gonna read this speech, and realize that the Jim Greers of the world... are a bunch of psychopaths to try to make this into a giant controversy about socialist indoctrination."

A survey from Rep. Greg Davids, R-District 31B Minnesota:

I completed Rep. David's so-called survey on health care and returned it to him, telling him what a tin-hat wearing pointy-headed wingnut he is. It's a shame that the once great GOP has been hi-jacked by far-right extremists like him.****
I'm disgusted with Rep. Greg Davids' health care survey. His questions validate the misinformation that has been going around. Regarding question four, illegal aliens are not included. Regarding number five, end of life counseling is given all the time when doctors can do no more for the patient and he/she has six months or less to live.****
Your recent health care survey had me thinking because it does a disservice to the debate by fueling the fears of the public rather than helping to educate us. It does us a disservice to include questions within your survey that are misleading and have little to do with factual discussion on health care.****
I just finished filling out your poll on health care. This is one of the finest examples of demagoguery I have seen. I will be keeping a copy of it in my collection of poll questions designed to provide a pre-determined result.****
I have read Dr. R. L. Sauer's letter regarding my health care survey and would like to respond. First of all, I'd like to extend my thanks to Dr. Sauer for sharing his input and completing the survey. Here's my own survey. It's really short, because I don't want to confuse the stupidest among us. Oh, and it's only directed at one person, Greg Davids:
What do you consider most important:
A: Encouraging honest input, whether it be agreement or dissent, from your constituents.
B: Freedom to be a dick.
