The Heraldic Crest of the Teabag Revolution

No, I'm not kidding. The Red State Rangers or whatever they were calling themselves before Rick Santelli faked up his umbrage, have to be the most obtuse klatch of people ever.

VIDEO: Rick Santelli claims he is being threatened by White House, then denies it

By GottaLaff

This morning on the TODAY SHOW Rick Santelli implies the White House threatened him, then denies he said they were threatening after Matt Lauer called him out. Additionally, it seems Santelli is also upset that the White House media corps laughed when Robert Gibbs made a joke at his expense. It appears this man needs to grow up. If you want to play ball with the big boys you have act like a big boy.
No further comment necessary. That covers it.

Outburst II: CNBC's Joe Kernen rips up New York Times on air

By GottaLaff

Whatever happened to professionalism and objectivity? How does it feel to have whiny little toddlers working for you, CNBC?
CNBC's Joe Kernen and Carl Quintanilla ripped a couple articles in the Business section of the New York Times today during "Squawk Box."

The first was the Times' story about News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch and his love of print. [...]

They also brought up Brian Stelter's story about the Rick Santelli outburst. "What is their point?" asked Kernen.

Unfortunately, I couldn't grab the clip. But you can watch Kernen make a fool of himself by sharing his feelings with America quite openly and ripping up the Times (video here). It makes a lovely bookend to Santelli's little tantrum.

Apparently, these grown men can't contain themselves on national Tee Vee. I don't want to begin to imagine how they act at home.

More Fearmongering!! White House Out To Get Rick Santelli

Of course douchebags like Liddy and Gallagher eat this crud up. If I didn't think there was a concerted effort to fearmonger before, this would do it for me. Via Think Progress (audio above)-

SANTELLI: He started that press conference saying, “I don’t know where he lives, I don’t know where his house is.” This is the Press Secretary of the White House. Is that the kind of thing we want? Is that —

LIDDY: It’s a veiled threat.

SANTELLI: It really is. […] I don’t really want to be a spokesman, but I really am very proud of a) the response I’m getting, which is overwhelmingly positive, and b) discourse, that is debate. That if the pressure and the heat I’m taking from the White House – the fact my kids are nervous to go to school – I can take that, okay.

What Gibbs really said-
GIBBS: I’ve watched Mr. Santelli on cable the past 24 hours or so. I’m not entirely sure where Mr. Santelli lives or in what house he lives but the American people are struggling every day to meet their mortgages, stay in their jobs, pay their bills, send their kids to school.

Twittering about a Santelli rumor

By GottaLaff

I just saw this on Twitter, and it's been picked up by a few other Tweets:

rt @dmooney9 CNN HLN reported Santelli CNBC rant was scripted. Claiming inside source.
I'm still trying to figure Twitter out, since I'm fairly new to it. I just thought this would spark conversation while I go out to an Italian dinner at a place we're trying on the Pacific Coast Highway.

Let me know if you find anything that would substantiate this, TPC ace reporters. I'm already late and can't follow up.

White House Responds to Santelli's Outburst

Meaning Robert Gibbs. I missed this, but after Chuck Todd described the answer, he made it sound as if Gibby had taken an ax to the Press Room. Video when I get it.**

A few minutes ago, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs responded to CNBC's Rick Santelli and his outburst which tapped into populist anger over some of the policies of the month-old Obama Administration.

CBS's Chip Reid asked Gibbs, referring to "that cable rant," about the Obama mortgage plan. Gibbs:

I've watched Mr. Santelli on cable the past 24 hours or so. I'm not entirely sure where Mr. Santelli lives or in what house he lives. But the American people are struggling every day to meet their mortgage, stay in their jobs, pay their bills, send their kids to school, hope they don't get sick or somebody they care for gets sick and sends them into bankruptcy.

I would be more than happy to have him come here and read [the mortgage plan]. I'd be happy to buy him a cup of coffee. Decaf. (laughter)

But I also think it's tremendously important that for people who rant on cable television to be responsible and understand what it is they're talking about. I feel assured that Mr. Santelli doesn't know what he's talking about.
