VIDEO- Tea party leaders: We'd ‘absolutely’ abolish Social Security.
By GottaLaff
Yesterday I posted a video of a Hardball segment in which Dana Loesch over talked Melissa Harris Lacewell, using the word "succession" instead of "secession", blahblahblah, the usual. She apparently made the rounds, popping up on Larry King Live last night, too:
Dana Loesch, a tea party organizer from Missouri, and another tea party organizer, Wayne Allyn Root, joined King for the discussion.
Get rid of that evil socialistic Social Security, you evil socialists!
And while we're at it, do away with public libraries, fire departments, national parks, the post office, public schools, Medicare, the U.S. military, veterans' benefits, U.S. currency, etc.
Anyone with a brain knows it's way better to have, as Thom Hartmann just called it, "economic feudalism". ::fist pump::
In fact, Thom suggests the Tea Tantrumers and other anti-government types go here and sign up, if they dare:
(click on image to enlarge)Unfortunately, King did not discuss the billionaire-backers of the tea parties, like David Koch, who similarly wants to do away with Social Security.
No, only Rachel Maddow would think to do that, and it's doubtful Loesch or Root would consider being confronted by someone who knows how to challenge them. Not for one second.

Michele Bachmann and Alan Grayson are on Larry King Live
By GottaLaff
King: What's wrong with majority rule?
Michele: That's not how the Senate works. That's the nuclear option. The Senate would have to break the rules to pass the bill.
Alan: She's entirely wrong. There's nothing that prevents reconciliation. If it's good enough for tax cuts to the rich twice, under Bush....
Busted, Michele.
King: Your solution?
M: Let Americans buy any policy with their own money, deduct the rest of expenses. Obama's bill won't bring down costs for Americans.
A: According to CBO, it will provide insurance to 80% who don't have it. Two identical people, one without hc has 40% better chance of dying.
M: What in the world is going on in the WH. He offered a judgeship to brother of a member of Congress. We need an investigation... Is the WH trading health care votes for judgeships?
A: Another weapon of mass distraction, change the subject away from hc. We need affordable health care that is accessible. ... going off on a tangent...
M: Corruption isn't a tangent... This is VERY serious. We need an independent investigation.
A: We will have a health care bill. It's gonna happen.
Um, well, that lasted 8 minutes. Much ado...
UPDATE: Heather at C and L has the video.

VIDEO- Bill Maher: Evan Bayh "isn't a centrist. He's a corporatist"
By GottaLaff
I'm glad he's back. He may be annoying sometimes, and we may not agree with everything he says, but IMHO, blunt (wink) is good:

Video- Liz Cheney Defends the Birthers
Skip to about 15:45 if you prize your sanity. FireDogLake put up the shorter, more relevant bit.
Via Joan Walsh-
After King showed video of the crazy birther who disrupted a meeting with poor GOP Rep. Mike Castle, demanding he acknowledge Obama was born in Kenya (that's one birther claim); and after Carville denounced them as a "poor, pathetic" fringe group, King gave Cheney a chance to distance herself from them. But Cheney demurred, telling King the Birther movement exists because "People are uncomfortable with a president who is reluctant to defend the nation overseas."
