Joe "You Lie!" Wilson challenger Rob Miller to raise cash in D.C.

CNN says they had this first. I guess that means we have it second:

Rep. Joe Wilson's Democratic challenger Rob Miller has collected more than $1 million online since Wilson shouted "You lie!" at President Obama, but next week Miller will be raising money the old-fashioned way.

The South Carolina Democrat, who has yet to make a public appearance since Wilson's outburst, will head to Washington for a pair of fundraisers on Capitol Hill.

A group of ex-staffers for former South Carolina Sen. Fritz Hollings and Rep. Jim Clyburn will host an event for Miller at a Capitol Hill restaurant on Wednesday, with a minimum suggested donation of $250, according to an invitation provided to CNN.

Later in the evening, Miller will head over to a Pennsylvania Avenue bar for a low-dollar meet-and-greet with "young professionals." The entry fee for that gathering is $20.10.

Unfortunately, Joe the Heckler has raised nearly $1.8 million. If that's not bad enough, he's raised a few thousand since his House wrist-slap.

I guess "Addison's" big mouth was overcompensating for his tiny... military career:

Joe Wilson, real name "Addison" presents himself as a hard boiled combat veteran, retired Army colonel and all around tough guy.

He belongs to "white supremacist" organizations, fought hard to keep the Confederate flag in South Carolina and, when an aide to the notorious racist Strom Thurmond admitted Thurmond had a half African-American daughter, Wilson abused and threatened the woman in an attempt to shut her up.

Yeah, but at least he doesn't lie like President Obama does, right? So what if he's partial to white?

Born in 1947, Wilson was prime material for the Vietnam War. After taking deferment after deferment for college and law school, in 1972, Wilson was glided into a coveted Army Reserve billet, protecting him from service in Vietnam.

He quit in 1975 with the fall of Saigon and transferred to the National Guard where he was a Judge Advocate, a "lawyer."

Wow, he must be pooped after all that combat!

Wilson has one of the worst records in Congress, having voted against Veteran funding 11 times. The only "veteran" Wilson has helped is himself.

That's Rushpublican for "sacrifice".

Though ending up with full health insurance and a fat military retirement, Joe Wilson, like Senator Lindsay Graham, both passed more qualified serving officers who were deployed to combat and moved into high paying positions as full Colonels, all done using political clout.

That's Rushpublican for "self-made man".

This gives both Wilson and his good friend and reportedly highest ranking gay officer in the US military, Lindsay Graham, substantial "double dip" retirements without ever having to actually serve in the real military and, especially, not during the Vietnam War.

Quit being so petty. I'm sure his political rival never even set foot in a recruitment office, let alone a combat zone. What a girly man!

Wilson's opponent in the upcoming election is Rob Miller, 13 year US Marine with 2 combat tours in Iraq.

Never mind.

Wilson, close friend and confidant of Fox Entertainment reality show host Glenn Beck is a strong advocate of private health care.

In fact he received over $ 400,000 in political donations from the health care industry in support of his position.

That's Rushpublican for "sex".

Insiders say that Beck helped stage the Wilson "impromptu theater" during the Presidents address to Congress, offering full support from Fox News in exchange for Wilson's violation of traditional Southern good manners, something Wilson has little familiarity with.

That's Rushpublican for "honest".

Wilson's Democratic opponent in next year's congressional race, Rob Miller, said in a Friday night e-mail to supporters that he had received more than $1 million in small contributions in less than 48 hours.

A campaign aide to Wilson confirmed Saturday that Wilson has raised more than $700,000.

Yesterday I posted about Rob Miller's raking in the big bucks after Joe the Mouther's little outburst. By the way, as of this writing, his ActBlue intake is now up to $793,329.

Seems those two little words, "You lie!", worked some more magic:

The poll, commissioned by the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling, shows that Wilson trails his Democratic opponent Rob Miller, 44 to 43 percent. A sizable 62 percent majority of voters said they disapproved of Wilson’s actions, with only 29 percent approving.

Keep shouting, Joe the Mouther. We're at about $400,000 a word now.

“In a matter of seconds Joe Wilson turned himself from a safe incumbent into one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the country for 2010,” PPP pollster Dean Debnam wrote.

Poof! Cautious optimism:

It’s a bit premature to be writing Wilson’s political obituary yet. The congressman won the district with 54 percent of the vote last year, a number depressed by the record level of African-American turnout in a presidential election. And it would be useful to see additional polling in the district before drawing any firm conclusions.

Sure, but nearly $800,000 is nothing to sneeze at. The playing field just got a whole lot more level.

The pimple on the ass of progress may be coming to a head.

Oh yeah? Well Joe the Mouther didn't make over $765,460 (doesn't include other fundraising efforts) like his opponent Rob Miller, now did he?

Less than a day after Rep. Joe Wilson formally apologized to President Obama over his "you lie" outburst, a campaign aide confirms to CNN the South Carolina Republican has raised "more than $200,000″ in the wake of the now-infamous moment.

Way to go, Rushpublics! Give your hard-earned unemployment checks to a guy who disrespects the highest office in the land, tries to sabotage genuine efforts to save lives and repair our badly damaged health care system, and so much more.

News of that cash haul comes after Wilson directly asked in a Web video for campaign cash to fend off attacks from political opponents and said he's standing by his opposition to Democratic efforts at health care reform.

"On these issues, I will not be muzzled, I will speak up and speak loudly against this risky plan," Wilson said in a YouTube video released Thursday evening. "The supporters of the government takeover of health care and the liberals who want to give health care to illegals are using my opposition as an excuse to distract from the critical questions being raised about this poorly conceived plan."

Who, again, used what, again, as an excuse to distract? Who, again, is a big fat liar? Oh, right, that would be you, Joe the MoutherFoxer.

The DCCC reported Thursday afternoon that Miller's new post-speech total had risen to $400,000, via 11,000 individual contributions.

See, this is what happens when someone acts so contemptuous, so infantile, so hostile that he can't keep his big, fat, loud, cavernous, windbaggy mouth shut for a few minutes. Not even for the president of the United States.

What happened to all that harrrrumphing and phony outrage the Rushpublics spat at us for 8 years about saying even one critical word about a war president? Or any (Rushpublic) president?

What about respecting the office, even while disagreeing with the man who holds it? How small can one sick insolent schmuck of a person [sic] be?

Rep Joe "You Lie" Wilson's Dem opponent takes in over $100k overnight

Now this made it worth getting out of bed this am.

Rep. Joe Wilson's (R-SC) outburst of "You lie!" against President Obama has been good for at least one person: Rob Miller, a Marine and Iraq War veteran who ran unsuccessfully against Wilson in 2008, and is running again for 2010 -- and who has now brought in a lot of money.

Jessica Santillo, the Southern regional press secretary for the DCCC, confirms to us that Miller has raised over $100,000.
