Decade's Top 10 most overhyped stories

Some of my most overhyped stories are also from yesterday's most memorable lines- The Dean Scream and the Kerry Flip Flop, both just beat into the ground over nothing. Obama Tops Forbes World's Most Powerful List

Funny how this is the first year they've put out this list.
President Barack Obama is the most powerful person in the world, according to Forbes magazine.
Chinese President Hu Jintao and Vladimir Putin, the prime minister of Russia, are No. 2 and 3, respectively.
The magazine's first-ever rankings of the "World's Most Powerful People" assessed power using four criteria: the number of people one influences; one's ability to project power beyond one's immediate sphere of influence; control of or access to significant financial resources; and how actively one wields power. There are 67 people on the list, one for every 100 million people on the planet.
Obama tops the list for a number of reasons, Forbes said. As head-of-state over the world's sole superpower, Obama presides over the largest, most dynamic and most innovative economy in the world, is commander-in-chief of the richest and deadliest military, his political party has the majority in Congress and he was recently awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, "apparently for general awesomeness," Forbes said.
The top 10 are:
-- President Barack Obama, United States
-- President Hu Jintao, China
-- Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Russia
-- Ben Bernanke, Federal Reserve chairman
-- Sergey Brin and Larry Page, Google founders
-- Carlos Slim Helu, Telmex chief executive
-- Rupert Murdoch, News Corp. chairman
-- Michael T. Duke, Wal-Mart chief executive
-- Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Saudi Arabia
-- Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

David Letterman responds to flap over Sarah Palin jokes
By GottaLaff

Now, appropriately, Dave gets more serious in his response to Palin's remarks:
Taping tonight's episode of The Late Show, David Letterman took a few minutes to respond to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who called him "pathetic" in a radio interview after he made her and her family the butt of a recent Top 10 list. [...] Camp Palin apparently took [one] joke to be a crack against Palin's 14-year-old daughter Willow, who had recently attended a Yankees game, but Letterman insisted today that the real target was 18-year-old daughter Bristol.
“We were, as we often do, making jokes about people in the news and we made some jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughter [Bristol]... and now they’re upset with me…” Letterman says on tonight's show. "These are not jokes made about her 14-year-old daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl.... Am I guilty of poor taste? Yes. Did I suggest that it was okay for her 14-year-old daughter to be having promiscuous sex? No." Saying he hopes he's "cleared part of this up," Letterman extended an invitation to Palin to come on the show as a guest.

VIDEOS: Palin calls Letterman ‘pathetic’ after ’slutty flight attendant’ joke
By GottaLaff
Children, children! David, Sarah Louise, am I going to have to turn this blog around?!
In case you forgot who John Ziegler is: Link. Link link link link. But the first link's the best. Wink. That was a Link Wink. I'll shut up now.In his number two highlight of Palin’s New York City trip, Dave pranged that Palin “bought makeup at Bloomingdale’s to update her slutty flight attendant look.”
Speaking to right-wing radio show host John Zeigler on Tuesday, Palin called Letterman’s shot “pathetic.”
Dave’s number one highlight was that Palin “especially enjoyed not appearing on Letterman.”
Letterman's Top Ten List is at about 3:25:
