Top Palin aide Meg Stapleton resigns

By GottaLaff

Introducing Meg the Quitter. I guess it's contagious.

If you want to know anything about Meg Stapleton, visit Shannyn Moore's site and The Mudflats. They're the experts.

But even to non-Alaskans, this is significant news to anyone who's been following the endless Palin saga:

Sarah Palin's spokeswoman Meg Stapleton, a close adviser to the former Alaska governor who developed a rocky relationship with other Republicans and members of the media, has resigned, two sources close to Palin confirmed Wednesday to CNN.

I bet she doesn't dare go for the "I want to spend more time with my family" line. Not her:

Stapleton, a spokesperson for the former governor since 2006, cited the need to spend more time with her husband and young daughter.

Oops.

I wonder why she's really quitting. It's not like she hasn't been a major part of Dufus McDinkBrain's professional life, offering her advice, speaking on her behalf, you name it. She's obviously very able:

[...] Palin insiders, members of Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign and other Republicans sympathetic to the former governor have grumbled privately about Stapleton's ability to handle the increasingly monumental task of advising Palin [...]

Eeps.

Well at least she was a good communicator:

Members of the political press corps have also long been frustrated with Stapleton, who was the primary conduit between Palin and members of the media since the end of the 2008 presidential race, but rarely responded to phone calls or e-mails. When Stapleton did, they were often terse or combative.

Orps.

The dog ate my phone call

If I were Scottie, I'd want to stay as far away from Booky McPayMyself as I could, too:

Here’s Brown in his interview with ABC News, after being asked if Palin is presidential material:

“Well, sure, I mean she’s been a mayor and a governor and has a lot of a national following. But the more people in a presidential race, the better. The caveat to that is I’ve never met her, she’s never contacted us and vice versa.”

Back away from Roguey McMoneyLaunder slowly. Sloowwwly.

I don't know no stinkin' Palin. Sarah who? Never heard of her.
"Gov. Palin spoke with a very happy Sen.-elect Brown this evening and congratulated him on his most historic victory for not only Massachusetts but the nation," Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton told POLITICO.
Meg Stapleton said that? Sorry, but I have to give this one to Scottie. I don't believe a word that comes out of M-Stap's big mouth.

Point: Brown. And that will likely be the last time I ever type those words.

Palin camp denies divorce rumors

By GottaLaff

Come on, we barely got a chance to speculate. Golly, there ya go again, you "so-called journalists", spreadin' rumors:
From Governor Palin's Facebook page:
Yet again, some so-called journalists have decided to make up a story. There is no truth to the recent “story” (and story is the correct term for this type of fiction) that the Palins are divorcing. The Palins remain married, committed to each other and their family, and have not purchased land in Montana (last week it was reported to be Long Island).

Less than one week ago, Governor Palin asked the media to “quit making things up.” We appreciate that the more professional journalists decided to question this story before repeating it.

Meg Stapleton
Sarah the Quitter has asked us to quit, so we will. Although I don't trust Stapleton any more than they trust the source of the divorce story.
The release is in response to a ludicrous rumor being spread by Alaskan CNN stringer Dennis Zaki. Zaki, who previously bought into rumors of Trig Truth, picked up these allegations from the same source - the rabidly anti-Palin, Trig Truth-espousing anonymous blogger "Gryphen" of the blog "Immoral Minority". Gryphen is a friend of Zaki's, along with fellow Team Truth members Shannyn Moore, Phil Munger, and "AKMuckraker" of the Mudflats.
Ohhh, so it's back to guilt by association (Team Shannyn/Mudflats), huh? They've been pallin' around with Gryphen who's been pallin' around with Zaki.

Team Quitter really doesn't seem too fond of two of my favorite bloggers. But, hey, I'm posting this out of fairness to the Quitter camp. But shhh, I happen to admire Shannyn and all those wacky Mudflatters. I'd pal around with 'em if I lived in Alaska.

Sarah Palin Blames Obama for Troubles; He Did All That?

By GottaLaff

Who knew Prez O donned his waders and pushed Miss Personality Disorder into the Sea of Resignation? No wonder he's so popular:
Jay Newton-Small, who interviewed Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) for this week's Time magazine, notes that "one of the most interesting aspects of the story is how vehemently the Palin camp blames Barack Obama" for her troubles. "That's the way they think about it: that these Alaskans filing ethics complaints have been hoodwinked by Obama operatives into wasting the Alaskan government's time and resources."

Palin aide Meg Stapleton said, "A lot of this comes from Washington, D.C. The trail is pretty direct and pretty obvious to us."

She goes on to argue that "the anti-Palin offensive seems lifted straight from The Thumpin', which describes the political strategies of Rahm Emanuel, who is now the White House chief of staff."
1. Sarah Dearest has no idea what the word "responsibility" means.
2. She and her little friend Meg are certifiable.
3. See #1 and #2.
