Tax Problems Surface for Secretary of Labor nominee Solis

By GottaLaff

How many times do I have to say it: Don't blow this:

The Washington Post reports that a Senate committee "abruptly canceled a session to consider President Obama's nomination of Rep. Hilda Solis to be labor secretary in the wake of a report saying that her husband yesterday paid about $6,400 to settle tax liens against his business -- liens that had been outstanding for as long as 16 years."

With yet another tax problem delaying a nominee, it makes you wonder if the "fastest transition in modern history' was worth it.
It also makes you wonder why Hilda Solis' nomination should be held up because of her husband's actions, whether or not they are relevant or affect her ability to do her job. No doubt, this will be pounced on by the punditiots and lumped in with the other nominees' tax issues, whether appropriate or not.
