Hardball's Chris Matthews is saying there is impending breaking news on the recovery deal. I'll update this post the second I hear. Expect a blog title change.
UPDATE: I changed the blog title to reflect the "Breaking News" banner that appears on MSNBC right now.
The "bipartisan group" (Nelson, Collins, etc.) is putting something together for tonight, says Tweety. Waiting for more.
UPDATE #2: The deal totals just under 800 billion dollars. I wonder what got cut, and how angry some of us will be when we find out. Harry Reid is trying to discuss this deal with the Democratic Caucus as we speak. We are still speaking, aren't we?
UPDATE #3: Tim Kaine says it will go to conference, sure, but that it's a balanced approach that includes Rachel Maddow's favorite word: Infrastructure. It also includes job assistance.
UPDATE #4: What the heck is a Democrat doing on the air? (See #3)
