President Obama's big surprise at Commander-In-Chief's Ball

Our new commander-in-chief was a hit with the troops in Afghanistan from Illinois. He surprised everyone by speaking to them (which wasn't easy with the time lag) as the crowd roared their approval. How does he keep topping himself like that?
