A paparazzo with a large telephoto lens – and in apparent full view of the Secret Service – captured the image of a bare-chested Barack Obama on a Hawaiian beach Monday, crashing the photo agency’s servers as they struggled to keep up with the Web traffic, according to the agency co-owner.
“They let him take the picture,” said Frank Griffin, co-owner of Bauer Griffin, a celebrity photo agency based in Los Angeles. “He walked along the beach with a camera and took the picture.”While photographers for mainstream news organizations were waiting in a pool van on the street, the Bauer Griffin photographer camped out at Kailua Beach where Obama is staying at an oceanfront home with his family and friends. The agency posted 37 photos of the family on its web site, and released several to the Huffington Post, TMZ.com and Celebuzz.com, Griffin said.
